I asked the auto driver not to take us to such places.
Next one was hotel Prem Sagar and luckily, it had a room. Only one room. A double one.
I asked her to book that for her.
"What will you do?"
"I'll keep searching." I replied to her and stepped back to the auto leisurely with a blank and tired face.
She thought for a moment and proceeded to the reception.
Before reaching the auto I heard hasty footsteps approaching me. I looked back and found none other than Naina with her chap.
“What happened?” I enquired.
With a gloomy face she answered they are not allowing a single woman to board in the middle of the night.
“Then?” I asked.
She has nothing to say. She only looked at me with praying eyes.
"Are you thinking about taking me in?" I asked with a pause.
"Mmm... Yes. I have no other option" She nodded her head smilingly.
"Are you gone mad? It's very dangerous... You know, just you and me in a room. Oh God, no!"

She pinched on my wrist.
"Oh! Come on. Don’t tease me" She smiled.
"Are you sure? Think again." I teased her again.
"Yes. It'll have a double bed. We can split the beds and sleep, can't we?"
That was really logical. Most of the hotels do this trick. They attach two single beds to make a double bed.
"Yeah we can. But why take so much risk?"
"Because I'm also caring. Learn from you."
She smiled looking directly into my eyes. It was very pleasing.
So we took the room. I paid two thousand rupees in advance. I relieved the auto as well.
Soon we were in the room. It was a spacious one. Large mirror, shelf, TV, towels, centre table, western style bathroom, hot and cold water, telephone, nice bed sheets and all.
But with only a problem.
The bed wasn't separable. Actually, the bed frame was two pieces, but the mattress was single piece.
"Oh shit! There is also no option" I smiled.
I laughed and said, "I am going for a shower. You split the bed. Okay?"
She looked at me helplessly.
