i dont believe in.......... live and let live.............the sugarcoated thought
i believe in nature..................... survival of the fittest........... so if sarvanan want to survive....and survival of his family...he must have to reincarnate himself..........as FITTEST...........by making his rivals....weakest or submissive
if he doesn't........then all his success and achievements are worthless.............. because your growth is not only for pleasure and leisure .... but for protection also..........protection of your life, your family and your interests
divorce is a prevention from future damages...........not a solution to your inhand damages..........

I have not read the whole story yet ,just started .I must say the first few chapters are masterfully depicted .
This story is very similiar to an Indian Novel named 'Grihadaha' . The novel was written when India was still under British rule. The author also wrote popular novels like DEVDAS and PARINEETA which later turned into major films . No I am not accusing you,I am just drawing a parrallel.
In Grihadaha there are also three main characters ,- the husband ,wife and husband's friend.
The husband is very moralistic, suffused with self-esteem and he does not like to show his emotions. He believes he can't make anybody stay in a relationship if they don't want to .He thinks forcing someone to stay in a relationship is not good.
The lover who is also the husband's friend is high spirited, emotional and lusts upon the wife . He has many good qualities. He saved the husband's life once.
The wife loves her husband ,respects him cause of his nature but she is also drawn towards her husband's reckless friend who promises that he would go to unimaginable depths to get her and give things she wants.
She wants her husband to desire her as much as the friend does. She wants to feel the crazy love. She wants emotional support from husband.
So the story is a love triangle where the wife is torn between loving a honorable husband or the high-spirited unethical Friend.
Anyway the story continued ,so does the affair.Being a pre-independence era novel ,the concept was highly controversial .
At the end the writer gave the solution by killing off the lover friend through some disease.Sending off the wife and husband to Varanashi so they can clean their souls and live their life as saints.
I read it when I was in 7th grade .The book was explosive .I spent days thinking ,torn between choices. One hand the affair was so steamy and illicit ,i started betting on the lover as I find him dark but on the other hand the husband's purity burned me like sun as at that age I aspired to be like him. The novel fucked my young mind .It was truly an outstanding reading which kept me thinking for years about what to choose -Morality or Desire?
I escaped that prison later by realizing I am not like any of those characters or perhaps I deliberately avoided to be like any of them as I did not want to share their tragic fate .
But the most interesting was the wife. She laughed at the lover ,she tore him apart by showing him again and again how he can never be as good as his moralistic friend .She was attracted to the lover but she never respected him.
Anyways I would very much like to see what solution you give to this timeless problem through the characters in your novel.

Sharat chandra chattopadhyay (chatterji) famous bangla (bengali language) novelist.... Always remembered for his controversial novels on love, lust and betrayal.... Devdas, parineeta and srikant was his landmark creations.... Thanks for sharing this information... I've remembered that again.... After nearly 35 years...
But now we are eagerly waiting for our writer's POV
