"I, I don't know, a few minutes, I was coming to find someone else and I heard, and then I saw, " She couldn't finish.
 
Her cheeks were burning so hot they looked like they might catch fire.
 
Her hand dropped from between her thighs as if burned, and she pressed her palms flat against her sides, trying to steady herself.
 
Rohan studied her, his gaze slow and deliberate, traveling over every inch of her slight, quivering frame.
 
She was a study in contrasts, innocence and desire, fear and fascination, virtue and temptation all warring on her perfect, heart-shaped face.
 
Her chest was heaving, the swell of her breasts rising and falling in a rhythm that matched the frantic beat of her pulse, visible in the delicate flutter of her throat.
 
Her eyes were enormous, dark pools of confusion and hidden hunger, and she couldn't seem to look away from him, no matter how much shame flooded her cheeks.
 
"What were you doing here?" he asked softly, taking a step closer to her.
 
The corridor was narrow, and the space between them shrank to almost nothing.
 
"My classmate…" she whispered, her voice barely audible.
 
"The boy with the scared face? Thin and short? The first year? He told me to meet him here."
 
"The one who's always hovering near the library?" Rohan's voice was thoughtful, almost absent.
 
"Yes, sir. He said he wanted to talk to me. He said it was important."
 
"And you came." It wasn't a question. His eyes never left hers.
 
"You came all the way here, to this empty building, because a boy you barely know told you to."
 
"I didn't know what he wanted," she said quickly, her voice defensive, almost pleading.
 
"I thought he just wanted to talk. He seemed nervous, like he needed help with something."
 
Rohan stepped closer still, close enough that she could feel the heat radiating from his body, close enough that she had to crane her neck to look up at him.
