for me. I loved my mom she left me. I loved my grandma she also left me. I loved Titli
and thought that she would stay, but she also left.”

I looked at Nilanjana ma’am, her eyes were glistening, she spoke in a choked voice, “A
friend is still there somewhere, Budhaditya.”

I gave her a failed smile, “Sure ma’am. But what happened inside?”

She nodded her head, “Let’s not discuss as what happened. Are you coming with me to
Dhanbad or shall I drop you at your place?”

I nodded my head to express that I would like to retire in my broken nest. She dropped
me at my place. I looked at her face, the contours depicted that she drank the venom
and kept inside her heart. Probably she would never spit that out. I could make out the
failure, I could make out the painful eyes that she was bleeding inside.

The road ahead was void and dark. Time and again her lifeless smile was coming in front
of my dried up eyes. I was able to hear her soul shattering wail, “I will not live without
