Anil: (his eyes went wide) you look great, Kalpana. Are you sure you dont want to join the crew here? (and offered a perfect gentleman’s smile).
me: Thanks.. but . I .. am er.. looking for my saree.. that I wore this morning
(i ask in a hushed tone) Anita seemed to have brought it outside the room
Anil: Oh that, why do you need it now. Did she not mention to you about the demo while you were both inside? We’ve planned to run a small rehearsal with the new dress in our simulator. It’s basically a small section of the flight cabin that is used by our cabin crew for training purposes.
Me: No, she hadn’t mentioned anything about it.
Anil: OH . sorry about it. Anita has kept your belongings somewhere. I don’t know where they are. She has already left to set up the rehearsal session at the simulator. You can join me. I am going there to oversee and approve it. You can collect you saree later. It’s not going to disappear anywhere Kalpana. Else you’ll be bored to death until I return.
me: oh , well.. ( hmmm, that’s true. I better be with him I thought. It is only going to be for a short period.) OK let me go with you Anil.
Anil: I think Anita should be getting ready for the simulator session as we speak.
me: ok. Where is it?
Anil: It is about a mile from here. why dont we head over there? Lets take a taxi
me: ok. (meekly) (Do I have to go out like this outside?? my god!!)
Anil was thinking to himself with a smile ‘no chance to retrieve your saree or panties for now’
me: but.. Anil.. just a thought…
Anil: yes Kalpana?
me: before going.. Could I perhaps collect my things in a bag and bring it along?
its just that its not just the saree ( I couldn’t see them anywhere here)
Anil: (still suppressing his excitement) Oh don’t worry about that. we will come back here anyway.
me: ( I looked crest fallen but nodded nevertheless).
We left the room to the disappointment of the technician, and reached the entrance. Not much of the traffic and we stopped the first taxi.
The Taxiwala got an eyeful as I quickly stepped in at the back, obviously. After a quick ride and we reached our destination.
