Many Files and Folders got Deleted automatically in my system. Anyone Please help me.

Friends many files and folders got deleted automatcally in my system. I don't know how it got deleted. Any friends with tech knowledge please guide me and help me to recover those important files and folders

You can use data recovery software to retrieve it. But if you use free version then there is some limitations(can recover data upto 500mb something like that). EaseUs, Recuva are some of them. Hope this will be helpful to you.

do not download & install other software before getting back your files.

The files are showing only as a shortcut version. when I examine the shortcut version's destination, the location I used previosly also showing. But If i dont use search option even the shortcut files also not visible.

Try EaseUs.  It is easy to use. I used EaseUs once. You can recover more data(may be upto 2gb). You may also specify from which disk you want to recover. If your missed files from local disk D then you will recover only Disk D and it will consume less time to recover.

Your system may be affected by virus. So that folders become shortcuts. I am not sure about it, just my guess.

Check windows startup first, find any suspicious links pointing to exe.
Don't install any antivirus now.


Open command prompt and check it.
Eg : if u have folder named "doctor" in d drive folder. Not showing in my computer.
Type the command " cd d:/doctor"
If this happens , then definitely it is virus.

1. Open a command prompt ( Windows Key + R, then type cmd and press Enter ) and go to your drive by typing drive letter and semicolon like F: then press ENTER.

2. Run this command attrib -s -r -h *.* and press Enter.
