Just as the world was recovering from the covid pandemic, another plague struck. This was more sinister and deadly than the previous one. This virus turns humans into hungry monsters. Scientists named it the K-virus. K stands for killer. There was no cure or vaccine to this virus. Scientific community said that this virus was created by some terrorist organisation to wipe out humanity. Religious fanatics said this was an act of god to punish humanity for it's sins. No one knows how it started. I still remember the day how this madness had began.

"Something's terribly wrong with him, we must take him to a doctor,"

But her phone was inside the bedroom. I went to my room and grabbed the phone. She tried to call an ambulance but no one was picking from the other side.

"I should call my station, they will sent an ambulance,"

She tried to call her station but the line was down. She got very anxious. I started connecting all the dots and came to the conclusion that we were in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. I tried to clam her down and explained the situation to her.

The internet was down. We switched on the tv. There were no channels, Only an emergency broadcast message. The same video was playing again and again in loop. In that video a lady dressed in an army uniform was addressing the viewers. Her points are as follows.

• Dear people, we are in the middle of a viral outbreak. This virus is know as K-virus. The orgins of the virus is currently unknown.
  
• The only way to get infected by this virus is to get bitten or scratched by an already infected person.
  
• Those who infected by this virus will intially experience the symptoms of the flu and will die within 12 hours.
  
• They will come back to life as the undead and began to spread the virus by biting the uninfected.
  
• Never go near the person if you suspect he/she is infected.
  
• Check for any bite or scratch marks if contact with the infected is made.
  
• If you suspect anyone is infected,lock them inside a room.
  
• The infected will have pale skin and blood red eyes.
  
• Do not mistake them for human. I repeat, they are already dead.
  
• Lock your doors and stay inside until the help arrives. avoid crowded places.
  

Upon hearing this my mom got panicked. she sat on the sofa and started to cry. I sat  near her and tried to console her by putting my hands over her shoulders and rubbing her arms. Then wiped her tears and stood up.
