Read/UnRead Threads not showing correctly

Just like the title says, Lots n Lots of threads which i never visited or opened are now showing as read thread (normal font) whereas only few threads are shown as unread threads (bold font) this makes confusion because now i have no idea which threads i visited and which threads are new

probably that is a technical glitch. looks like other members have not noticed it.
btw, which theme you are using (shown at bottom right of page) - is it sharepoint theme ?

Yes it is sharepoint theme.

Upon further inspection i found out that threads older than july 2020 are all showing as read. While the newer threads correctly display read/unread

^ though I do not know exact reason, recently forum was offline for a day or two.
I guess this read / unread indication problem is related to that. Lets wait for Admin's response ..

Threads upto 7 days will show read/unread correctly.

older than 7 days will be shown as normal threads or read threads.

This serves no purpose if all the threads automatically became as read after 7 days.

I want to know which threads i visited and which threads i didn't. Thats why this whole read/unread thing exists

It should be infinity. Stories are stories. no matter 7 days or 30 days or 100 days.
At the very least, the option of making them as read should be left to individuals user option.
