Mahesh ignore that question thinking it's a tricky one instead he asks " What were you doing? Something important I guess. Go back to that, I was just here to deliver your coffee" his tone clearly sounds bringing coffee to Asish is beyond him. 

In his mind he has already won the battle between him and Asish by planting Shilpa in Asish's house, he is positive when he reaches home shilpa is waiting there with the video recording of her molestation.
