A few days later, Padma went to the designer boutique to collect the blouse being prepared for her new saree.
While she was waiting, she heard a familiar voice.
? Ananya: “Padma?”
Padma turned.
? Padma: “Ananya!”
Ananya smiled and walked over.
? Ananya: “What are you doing here?”
? Padma: “I gave my saree for a blouse design. I’m here to check the fitting.”
Ananya looked at her saree appreciatively.
? Ananya: “You always choose such elegant things.”
Padma smiled.
? Padma: “And you always choose the opposite.”
Ananya laughed.
? Ananya: “That’s true!”
Their conversation became surprisingly easy.
They talked about sarees, blouse designs, shopping and the difficulty of finding a good designer.
After a while, Ananya checked her phone.
? Ananya: “Rajan is coming to pick me up.”
Padma simply nodded.
A few minutes later, Rajan entered the boutique.
He stopped briefly when he saw Padma standing beside Ananya.
? Rajan: “Padma.”
? Padma: “Rajan.”
Ananya looked between them.
? Ananya: “See? Now we are three. Let’s have coffee before we leave.”
Padma immediately tried to decline.
? Padma: “No, it’s okay. I should get home.”
? Ananya: “Just one coffee. Come on.”
Padma hesitated.
Ananya smiled and lightly insisted.
? Ananya: “Please. We were already talking. Don’t disappear now.”
Eventually Padma agreed.
