My mother and the landlord (Slow burn, long read)

“You are the best son” — Anjali keeps repeating the same dialogue. Ever since her relationship with Azad began, she has been saying the same things over and over again. I don’t know if anything is ever going to change. “We’ll talk tomorrow” — that’s another dialogue she keeps repeating. Then there’s “I struggled so much to raise you” and “I don’t care about anyone else.” Sunny also keeps responding with “Okay, Mom” before leaving for the office. It’s the same dialogue and the same scenario repeating again and again.

Tomorrow, when Sunny talks to Anjali, will he at least tell her, “What you’re doing is wrong. I’m suffering a lot because of you”? Or will he just keep everything bottled up inside, like a tortoise retreating into its shell, and quietly go to the office without saying anything?

Anjali emotionally says, “After my husband died , I’ve been struggling and living through so much hardship,” and keeps portraying herself as a good mother. Then Why  She doesn’t  feel even a little guilty that she has pushed her own son out and made him suffer just for her own pleasure? She doesn’t seem able to simply say sorry as if nothing happened and then tell Sunny, “We’ll talk tomorrow.”
