Most readers believe that it was the right decision for Sunny's mother, Anjali, to bring the landlord, Mr. Azad, into her own flat; Sunny, too, has mentally accepted the relationship between his mother and Mr. Azad. However, Sunny prefers to observe the situation secretly; because his mother asked him to close the door to his room, he was deprived of the chance to watch casually, and this has left him feeling upset. Are you really saying that it is acceptable for a mother to humiliate her own son and then have a sexual relationship with Azad?.

This is the very same house where Sunny’s father and mother lived together as a family. How can it be considered acceptable for a mother to have an affair in that house after sending her 20-year-old son away—a young man who has barely experienced life and still knows very little about the outside world?
Sunny hasn’t even fully accepted his mother’s affair yet. He is still struggling internally, trying to process what he has seen and what it means for his relationship with his mother. His mind is already fighting against his emotions.

That is why I don’t understand Azad’s choice either. He could have taken Anjali to his own house and kept their relationship private. Why make Sunny endure even more humiliation?

What makes this scene so painful is that Sunny has already been reduced to someone who is treated like a slave in front of his own mother. And then he has to live with the knowledge that the same man who humiliates him is also having a sexual relationship with his mother.

At that point, this is no longer just about an affair or sexual desire. It is about a son’s dignity, his trust in his mother, and the emotional damage caused when the people closest to him become part of his humiliation. How is Sunny supposed to process all of that?

But watching her own son being treated like a slave right in front of her eyes, and then seeing that same man have sex with her… what can you even call that?
