Padma returned home that evening, her skin still humming from the encounter, every nerve ending alive and electric.
Mohan was sitting on the sofa in the quiet living room, scrolling through his phone.
? Mohan: “You’re back.”
? Padma: “Hmm.”
He looked up, his gaze catching the deep flush on her cheeks and the slight, breathless rise and fall of her chest under her fitted kurta.
? Mohan: “Everything okay?”
Padma hesitated, the memory of Rajan’s heavy, possessive eyes lingering like a touch.
? Padma: “Rajan met me.”
Mohan immediately put his phone down, his expression hardening.
? Mohan: “He approached you again?”
? Padma: “Yes. But I didn’t stay with him.”
? Mohan: “What did he want?”
Padma sank onto the sofa beside him, the scent of her sweat and perfume carrying the lingering heat of the street.

Mohan frowned, drawing closer.

Padma’s mouth went bone dry. She instantly slammed the phone locked, her pulse hammering in her ears.
Mohan caught the sudden panic in her eyes, his hand sliding over hers.
? Mohan: “Was that Rajan?”
She gave a small, breathless nod.
? Padma: “Yes.”
Mohan took her phone, tapping the screen open to the contact settings.
? Mohan: “Block him. Right now. Cut him off completely.”
Padma stared down at the glowing screen. The word BLOCK sat there—a final, definitive end to the dangerous game.
Her thumb hovered over the glass.
Three seconds passed. Five.
Her body throbbed with a terrifying, forbidden ache. Blocking him meant closing the door on that dark, sensual hunger forever—and her trembling thumb simply refused to press down.
Instead, she snatched the phone back and locked it again.
Mohan watched her every move, the heavy silence stretching between them like a taut wire. He didn't raise his voice. He just asked, his tone laced with a quiet, devastating realization:
