Vasu pushed her toward the bed. Jayshree walked backward on unsteady legs, her denim-clad thighs hitting the mattress edge with a soft thud, and Ravi saw the maroon brief visible above the low waistband of her jeans—a dark secret against her skin, the fabric riding up on one hip where the denim had shifted. She fell onto the bed. The bounce was real, unchoreographed, her body surrendering to gravity, her hair spilling across the white duvet like a bottle of ink overturned in slow motion. Her arms flung wide, her chest heaving in ragged, open-mouthed gasps, the light blue bra still in place but askew, one cup higher than the other, the lace cutting a pale line into the flushed flesh of her breast.
Vasu stood over her for a moment, his chest heaving, his jeans riding low on his hips, the trail of dark hair below his navel visible in the lamplight. He looked down at her with an expression Ravi could not fully read from the angle—something between awe and appetite, worship and predation. Then he moved.
Ravi shifted his weight by a fraction of an inch, his shoeless feet silent on the carpet. The hinge-gap offered him a new angle now, a direct sightline to the bed’s foot. The bedside lamp—left on, thank God, left on—bathed the scene in a warm, merciless pool of light that turned every drop of sweat into a tiny mirror.
Vasu tore his linen shirt off and threw it. It landed somewhere near the desk, a black puddle of fabric. His torso was lean and gym-hard, the muscles of his abdomen catching the lamplight in sharp relief, the V of his hips disappearing into the low waistband of his jeans. He climbed onto the bed and straddled Jayshree, his knees on either side of her waist, his shadow falling across her face. She was still in her light blue bra, her jeans unbuttoned but clinging stubbornly to her hips, the zipper broken, the maroon brief twisted slightly from the fall so that the seam pressed visibly against the center of her. She looked up at him with eyes that were glazed, drunk, and glittering with a surrender she didn’t have the vocabulary to name.
Vasu pinned her wrists above her head with one hand. The gesture was effortless, mechanical, the kind of dominance that came from believing the woman beneath him had begged for it. His other hand went to her jeans. He yanked. The denim was tight, damp with humidity and sweat and the heat of her own arousal, and it resisted. Vasu growled—Ravi heard it clearly, a low animal rumble that vibrated in the actor’s chest—and ripped. The button popped with a sharp, plastic crack that echoed in the quiet room, bouncing off the marble floor. The zipper gave way in a metallic shriek. He shoved the jeans down to her mid-thighs, the fabric bunching, imprisoning her legs together, the seams digging into her skin.
Jayshree gasped, her hips lifting instinctively to help, then bucking as if changing her mind. "Ah—wait—" she breathed, but the words dissolved into a sharp, breathless cry: "Nnngh!" The struggle was slight, performative, drunk—the reflex of a woman who had spent thirty-four years controlling every interaction, now finding that her body was betraying her by cooperating. But it excited Vasu more. He grabbed the waistband of her maroon brief and tore.
The fabric ripped at the left hip, a clean, violent sound like paper tearing. He didn’t remove them fully. He left them hanging from her right leg, a tattered flag of her former control, the torn cotton framing her sex in a way that looked obscene and deliberate, a curtain pulled back to reveal the stage.
He descended on her breasts.
The light blue bra was still on, but he pulled the cups down roughly, tucking the lace beneath the swell so her nipples were exposed, dark and hardened into peaks that looked painful. He sucked one into his mouth with a force that made Jayshree’s back bow off the mattress, her spine arching like a drawn bow. "Oh! Oh, fuck—" she keened, her voice breaking into a high, breathless register Ravi had never heard from her. Vasu bit. He switched to the other breast, his teeth grazing, his tongue laving, his hands pinning her wrists so hard the skin around his knuckles went white and the tendons in his forearms stood out like cables.
"Ahhh! God, ahhh—" Jayshree thrashed, her head whipping from side to side on the pillow, her hair a dark halo of chaos. Her face contorted in an agony of sensation that Ravi had never seen before—not in January, not ever. With him, she had been poised, riding, calculating her angles like a woman conducting an orchestra. With Vasu, she was unraveling. The pain-pleasure mix was bypassing her intellect and going straight to her spine, reducing her to pure, ungoverned nerve endings. Her knees, still trapped in the bunched denim, rubbed together frantically, seeking friction, seeking escape, seeking more. "Nnngh... please... nnngh..."
That look, Ravi thought, his hand moving to the front of his jeans, his fingers pressing against the hard line of his arousal through the denim. That look is mine. I bought it. I built it. I own it.
He did not release himself. Not yet. He held himself in a grip of iron, denying release, letting the pressure build until it bordered on pain, until his vision swam at the edges. He was storing this. Every image was a negative in the darkroom of his mind, every sound a track he would replay until the grooves wore smooth.
Vasu released her wrists. His hands went to her thighs, shoving them apart with a roughness that made the bed creak in protest. Jayshree’s jeans, still trapped at her thighs, kept her legs partially closed, but Vasu forced his shoulders between her knees, spreading her open despite the restriction, his stubble scbanging the soft skin of her inner thighs. He lowered his head.
When his mouth made contact, Jayshree’s cry was not muffled. It was not polite. It tore from her throat with a raw, guttural abandon that made Ravi’s breath hitch in his own chest, a sound like a soul being pulled through a keyhole: "AHHH! Fuck... fuck, fuck, fuck—" Her hands flew to the sheets, clutching fistfuls of white cotton, her knuckles bone-white, her arms trembling with the effort of holding on to something, anything. Her hips bucked upward, a violent spasm that lifted her ass clear off the mattress, seeking more or trying to escape—Ravi couldn’t tell, and he suspected neither could she. Vasu gave her no subtlety. No teasing. No patience. He feasted on her with the single-minded hunger of a man who believed he had been invited to a banquet and intended to eat until he was sick, his head moving with a steady, aggressive rhythm, his tongue and teeth working without finesse, only appetite.
"Oh god... oh god... Vasu... nnngh... ahhh..." Jayshree’s moans became continuous, a broken, ascending series of gasps and curses and sounds that weren’t words at all—just vowels, just breath, just the raw phonetics of being undone. "Hhh-ah... hhh-ah..." Each exhale was a sob, each inhale a shudder. Her face, illuminated perfectly by the bedside lamp, was turned toward the ceiling, her eyes squeezed shut, then flying open, then rolling back to show crescents of white beneath fluttering lashes. Her mouth was open and gasping like a fish drowning in humid air, her lower lip trembling, saliva gathering at the corner and tracking down her cheek. It was the face of a woman who had forgotten her own name, who had forgotten Ravi existed, who had forgotten that twenty minutes ago she had been the cruel architect of a man’s humiliation. She had been reduced to a body. A nerve. A pulse.
"Don’t stop... don’t... ahhh... mmmph..." She was crying now, tears leaking from the corners of her eyes and tracking in silver lines down her temples, pooling in her ears, mixing with the sweat that had gathered at her hairline. But her hips kept rolling, kept pushing upward into his mouth, her heels digging into the mattress for leverage. The contradiction was devastating—her face a mask of weeping overwhelm, her body a traitor begging for more.
Ravi watched her through the gap, his eye burning, his cheek pressed against the oak so hard he could feel the grain imprinting on his skin. His hand was inside his jeans now, wrapped around himself, but he did not stroke. He held himself in a grip of iron, denying release, letting the pressure build until it bordered on pain, until his vision swam at the edges. He wanted to remember this. He wanted to carry the image of her like this—undone, unmade, her light blue bra shoved beneath her breasts like a harness, her jeans ripped at the thigh and bunched like a noose, her maroon brief hanging in tatters from one leg while a younger man she couldn’t even speak to devoured her—into whatever came next. He wanted to etch it so deeply into his memory that he could summon it at will, in boardrooms, in bed, in the dark hours before dawn.
Vasu lifted his head. His chin glistened in the lamplight, wet with her. He said something in Tamil, a rough, triumphant murmur that sounded like a prayer and a threat, and Jayshree whimpered in response, "Nnngh... please..." her hips still rolling in the air, seeking the friction he had denied her by stopping. Her hands reached down, grasping at his hair, trying to pull him back, her body speaking a language her mouth had lost entirely.
Ravi’s jaw ached from clenching. His eyes burned. He did not blink. He was the architect, and the building was still rising, beam by beam, scream by scream
Ravi’s breathing was shallow, controlled. He was hard, aching, his hand inside his jeans but still not stroking. He watched the red marks blooming on her hips where Vasu’s fingers gripped. He watched her hair, wild and tangled, being pulled and released with every snap of Vasu’s hips. The wet slap of skin against skin filled the room like a heartbeat.
Vasu pulled out suddenly, leaving her gasping, empty, her hips bucking backward in a reflex so primal it looked like a seizure. The absence of him was a violence in itself. She whimpered into the mattress—"Nnngh... no..."—not a word but a sound, an animal noise of protest that made Vasu’s lip curl with masculine triumph. He had reduced her to this. He had stripped the English language from her entirely.
He flipped her with a rough shove of his palm against her hip, tossing her onto her back like a doll whose joints had been loosened by use. Her body bounced once against the mattress, her arms flung wide, her hair a dark halo of chaos against the white duvet. The jeans, already torn and bunched, finally surrendered and fell to the floor with a soft, forgotten thud. The ruined maroon brief was kicked aside by Vasu’s foot, left hanging from the edge of the bed like a discarded flag.
She was fully naked now. The lamplight found every mark he had left—the red fingerprints blooming like fingerprints in ink across her hips, the bite impressions darkening on the swell of her breasts, the mascara rivers dried now into black tributaries on her temples. Her chest heaved, her ribs visible beneath flushed skin, her nipples swollen and hardened into dark peaks from the abuse. She looked destroyed. She looked like a masterpiece.
Vasu didn’t pause to admire his canvas. He grabbed her ankles and threw her legs over his shoulders, folding her nearly in half with a casual brutality that made her spine scream. Her knees were pressed back toward her shoulders, her pelvis lifted off the mattress, her sex exposed and vulnerable to the amber light. The position was obscene in its exposure—she could not close herself, could not hide, could not do anything but receive.
He leaned over her, his shirtless torso gleaming with a sheen of sweat and alcohol, the muscles of his abdomen contracting as he positioned himself. He pinned her wrists above her head with one large hand, his palm grinding her bones against the headboard, and resumed.
But this time, he changed the rhythm.
Thwack...
The first thrust was deeper, slower, a grinding invasion that seemed to reach the end of her and keep pushing. Jayshree’s mouth opened in a silent scream, her neck arching, her eyes flying wide.
Thwack...
He pulled back to the tip and drove in again, a punishing, deliberate stroke designed not for mutual pleasure but for conquest. Each impact was a statement: You are not in charge. You were never in charge.
Thwack... thwack... thwack...
Jayshree’s moans became continuous, a broken, ascending rhythm that sounded less like ecstasy and more like sobbing. "Oh god... oh fuck... oh god... Vasu..." She didn’t know his real name. She was calling him by the only syllable she had, and it came out as both prayer and curse, ripped from her throat in time with his thrusts. "Ah... ah... ahhh..."
Her face, illuminated perfectly by the bedside lamp, was turned toward the ceiling. Her eyes weren’t closed—they were rolled back, showing crescents of white beneath fluttering lashes, as if she were witnessing something beyond the room, some private annihilation visible only to her. Her eyebrows were knitted together in an expression of anguished confusion, the delicate muscles of her forehead contracting as if her body and mind were receiving two different signals and couldn’t reconcile them. This hurts. This is heaven. This is wrong. I want more.
Tears pooled in the hollows of her eyes—large, glassy beads that caught the lamplight like diamonds—but they didn’t fall immediately. They accumulated, trembling on her lower lids, until Vasu shifted his angle by a fraction and hit something inside her that made her entire body convulse. Then they spilled over in a sudden, silent flood, tracking in parallel lines down her temples and into her hair, mixing with the sweat that had gathered at her hairline.
Vasu bit her.
His teeth sank into the flesh of her neck, hard enough to make her cry out—"Ahh!"—and then moved to her shoulder, her collarbone, the upper swell of her breast. He was marking her, claiming territory with his mouth, leaving a constellation of red and purple impressions that would darken into bruises by morning. His stubble scbangd her skin raw as he moved upward, his mouth finding the shell of her ear.
"Unakku pidikum," he growled in Tamil, his breath hot and ragged. "Sollu. Sollu enakku." Tell me you like it.
She couldn’t understand. She only moaned in response, her head turning away, and he took her jaw in his free hand and forced her to face him. His free hand closed around her throat—not squeezing, not yet, but holding, a collar of fingers and thumb that made her eyes fly open, her pupils blown wide with a cocktail of terror and arousal so potent it looked like madness. She stared up at him, her lips parted around a breath that wouldn’t come, and he tightened his grip just enough to make her understand who owned the air in her lungs.
Thwack... thwack...
She began to climax.
It started in her thighs, a violent trembling that locked her muscles and made her legs spasm against his shoulders. The tremor rolled upward like a seismic wave, through her pelvis, her abdomen, her spine. Her back arched off the bed, bending impossibly under the weight of her own legs, her head pressing back into the pillow until her throat was a taut line of surrender beneath his gripping fingers. Her nails raked down Vasu’s back, drawing four parallel lines of blood that welled up dark and glistening on his brown skin, tracing from his shoulder blades to the small of his back.
She screamed.
"Ahhh! Ahh! Ahh!"
It was not a polite, controlled orgasm. It was volcanic, prolonged, her body convulsing around him in rhythmic, muscular spasms that she could not stop or direct. Her head thrashed from side to side, tears streaming freely down her temples and into her ears, her mouth open in a continuous, broken wail. She had never allowed herself this with Ravi. With Ravi, she had always maintained the reins, riding him with detached efficiency, ensuring she never lost control, never showed the full architecture of her need. Here, control had been ripped from her by a man who didn’t even speak her language, and the release was annihilating.
From the hinge-gap, Ravi saw her face as she came.
The lamplight illuminated her perfectly—the mouth wrenched open in a shape of pure, unguarded O, the eyes rolled back to crescents of white, the face of a woman being unmade and remade in the same breath. He memorized it. The abandon. The surrender. The total destruction of the cruel, poised architect who had mocked him in the booth below, who had called him pathetic and grateful and small. This was what she looked like when she was truly honest. This was what she looked like when she was broken open.
Ravi’s hand was inside his trousers now, wrapped around his own arousal, and this time he was stroking. Slowly. Silently. Matching the rhythm of Vasu’s grinding thrusts into her convulsing body. The partition hid the small movements of his shoulder, the tension in his jaw, the way his own hips pressed forward against the oak in sympathetic motion. He was hard as iron, his breath coming in short, soundless gasps through his nose, his eyes burning and unblinking.
He watched Vasu’s bloodied back. He watched Jayshree’s toes curl and release against the actor’s shoulders. He watched the tears pool in her ears and the spit gleam at the corner of her mouth. He watched her be entirely, completely, helplessly herself—stripped of language, stripped of power, stripped of the performance she called a personality.
And as her screams tapered into whimpering, hitching sobs, Ravi felt his own climax building—not from friction alone, but from the exquisite, cold knowledge that he had authored this moment. He had written the script. He had cast the actors. He had built the stage.
Now he was watching the curtain fall on her dignity, one brutal thrust at a time.
Vasu rode her through the orgasm with the mechanical indifference of a man using a spasming body for friction. He did not slow. He did not check her face for pleasure or pain. He simply took what her convulsing muscles offered, grinding his hips in tight, cruel circles until the last tremor died in her thighs. When she finally collapsed—limp, gasping, her forehead pressed against his shoulder like a penitent—he pulled out with a wet, obscene sound and flipped her onto her back with a snarl of pure, wounded masculinity.
Jayshree hit the mattress with a breathless whimper, her hair a dark web across the pillow. But something in her refused to stay broken.
She pushed herself up on trembling arms. Her muscles screamed in protest, bruised and overused, but her mind—desperate to reclaim the narrative—commanded her body to move. She climbed over him as he lay back on the mattress, her knees settling on either side of his hips with the practiced, sensual confidence of a woman who had dominated boardrooms and beds alike. She lowered herself onto him slowly, inch by inch, her hands pressing against his sweat-slicked chest, her nails digging crescents into his pectorals.
For two minutes, she was on top.
She rolled her hips in a deep, grinding figure-eight, the motion setting the pace, dictating the depth, reminding them both that this was her body and she was merely loaning it. Her breasts swayed inches from his face, the nipples dark and swollen from his earlier bites, her hair curtaining them both in a private tent of sweat and oud. She set the rhythm. She controlled the angle. She was reclaiming her power, using her body to remind him—and herself—that she was still the architect, still the one who decided when and how and how much.
Slap. Slap.
The sound of her hips meeting his was lighter now, quicker—a staccato percussion that spoke of her authority. Her breath came in sharp, commanding bursts: "Hah... hah... hah..." She tossed her hair back, her throat exposed, her eyes half-lidded with the intoxication of control regained. She was beautiful in that moment. Cruel and beautiful. The woman Ravi had first desired.
But Vasu’s expression darkened.
His hands, which had been resting passively on her thighs, suddenly shot up and gripped her waist with crushing force. The fingers that had left bruises on her hips now dug into her ribs, and with a roar of drunken, wounded masculinity—a sound that contained no words, only the feral outrage of a beast who had been momentarily tamed and would not tolerate it again—he flipped her.
Jayshree shrieked as her back hit the mattress, the air driven from her lungs in a single, shocked gasp: "Ahh!" The sound was strangled, cut off by the impact. Before she could draw breath to protest, before she could even raise her arms to defend herself, Vasu was on top of her, his weight crushing her into the duvet, his face contorted with an anger so pure it looked like religious ecstasy.
He grabbed her right leg and shoved it upward with brutal efficiency, pressing her knee back toward her shoulder until the tendons in her thigh screamed. The position folded her completely open, her sex exposed and vulnerable, her pelvis tilted upward to receive him. He entered her again with a single, brutal thrust that slammed the headboard against the wall with a sound like a gunshot.
Thwack!
The force drove the breath from her in a sharp, guttural grunt. Her eyes flew wide, her mouth forming a perfect, silent circle of shock.
"Yen mel erakam?" Vasu snarled down at her, his face inches from hers, his breath hot and rancid with rum. You think you ride me? You think you control this?
Jayshree’s eyes went wide. She pushed at his chest, her palms flat against the hard muscle, but her arms were weak, trembling from exertion and alcohol. He caught both her wrists in one of his large hands and pinned them above her head against the pillows, his grip so tight she felt the small bones in her wrists grind together. His other hand found her throat.
He squeezed.
Not enough to cut off air completely, but enough to make her understand. Enough to make her eyes bulge, her lips part in a soundless O of terror and arousal, her body freeze beneath him as her pulse hammered frantically against his thumb. The pressure was moderate, a collar of fingers and flesh that turned her face a shade darker, that made the veins in her neck stand out in delicate relief. She stared up at him, tears springing instantly to her eyes, and something in her resistance—the last frayed thread of her Delhi arrogance—dissolved completely.
Her hands stopped fighting. They fell to the mattress, palms up, fingers curling loosely in a posture of total offering. Her body went slack beneath him, every muscle surrendering at once, as if her nervous system had finally accepted what her mind could not: she was not in control. She had never been in control.
Vasu began to punish her.
Thup. Thup. Thup.
His thrusts were disciplinary now, deep, grinding strokes that seemed designed not for pleasure but for retribution. Each impact drove her hips into the mattress, her spine compressing, her pinned leg trembling against his shoulder. He leaned down and bit her. His teeth sank into the flesh of her left breast, hard enough to break skin, to make her scream: "Ahhh!" Then he moved to her sternum, her shoulder, the delicate skin above her collarbone. Each bite was a brand, a message written in pain and saliva. He bit her nipple and she thrashed beneath him, but his hand at her throat held her pinned, his fingers tightening warningly as his teeth closed around the sensitive peak.
Then he slapped her.
Crack!
The sound was shocking in the quiet room—a gunshot of flesh on flesh, sharp and final. Her head snapped to the side, her cheek blooming with instant heat. Jayshree gasped, her mouth open in a perfect circle of shock, her eyes blank with disbelief. Before the pain could fully register, before she could form a thought or a word, he slapped her again—backhanded across the other cheek.
Smack!
She sobbed openly now, tears coursing in thick rivers down her temples, pooling in her ears, her body shaking beneath him in uncontrollable tremors. But she did not tell him to stop. She did not use the word. Instead, her free leg—the one not crushed against her shoulder—rose and wrapped around his waist, her heel digging into the small of his back, pulling him deeper into her with a desperation that belied her tears.
Thup. Thup. Thup.
She was crying, but her hips kept rolling to meet him, as if the tears were being squeezed out of her by some mechanism entirely separate from her will. Every time he tightened his grip on her throat or sank his teeth into her breast, her neck arched and her mouth made the same shape—a gasping, wounded O that looked almost like a smile, like a woman finally tasting the truth of herself.
Her moans dissolved completely. She made a sound like "Hhhn-ah, hhhn-ah" with every thrust, a mindless metronome that matched his rhythm. Her hands, which had been pushing at his chest, suddenly went limp. They fell to the mattress beside her head, palms up, fingers curled in a posture of utter submission. She stopped fighting. She stopped moving. She lay beneath him and took it, her eyes fixed on the ceiling with a glazed, thousand-yard stare that looked almost like peace, like a woman who had finally been emptied of everything except the capacity to receive.
Vasu used her for two more minutes. Three. His thrusts became erratic, savage, the rhythm of a man using a body to masturbate, reducing her to a warm, wet sleeve for his own completion. He gripped her raised leg with one hand, keeping her folded and obscenely open, his other hand still resting on her bruised throat, his thumb tracing the flutter of her pulse. He bit her breast one final time, hard enough to draw a whimper from her slack mouth, and then—with a final, guttural roar that sounded like an animal being slaughtered, like a dam breaking—he came.
He released inside her. Deep. Pulse after violent pulse, his body shuddering and jerking above her, his hips grinding against hers with short, brutal spasms as if trying to push every drop as far inside her as possible, as if trying to leave something of himself that she could never wash out. Jayshree felt it—the heat of it, the wet flood, the claiming in the most primitive currency. Her eyes flew open, her mouth forming a perfect circle of shock and something darker—knowledge, finality, the understanding that she had been emptied into, marked from within, owned in a way that transcended language.
Vasu collapsed.
His weight crushed her for a long, suffocating moment, his face buried in her neck, his breath ragged and hot against her sweat-slicked skin. She lay beneath him, pinned, her chest heaving in shallow, desperate sips of air. Then he rolled off without ceremony, falling onto his back beside her, one arm thrown over his eyes, his chest heaving like a bellows.
Jayshree did not move. She stared at the ceiling, her legs still spread in the position he had left them, her body marked and used and glistening in the lamplight. She looked destroyed. She looked like a cathedral bombed into a ruin—still beautiful, but no longer functional.
Behind the partition, Ravi came.
He bit down on his own lip to silence himself, his teeth breaking skin, blood mixing with the salt of his sweat. His hand moved in a blur, his release spilling over his fingers in hot, silent pulses that he caught in his palm, trembling, his eyes never leaving the sight of her ruined, perfect body on the bed. He shuddered against the oak partition, his forehead pressed against the wood, his breath coming in short, soundless gasps.
He reached down with his free hand and grabbed the torn maroon brief that had been kicked aside earlier—the fabric still warm from her body heat, still carrying the faint, musky scent of her arousal and Vasu’s saliva. He pressed it against himself and wiped clean, the silk soaking up the evidence of his own transgression. As he folded the soiled garment, his mind supplied a thought with crystalline, venomous clarity: If she wore something this delicate, this explicitly inviting, then who was it for? Not for me. Never for me. For Gagan? For some Delhi shadow she hasn’t mentioned? Or simply for herself, because she knew—she knew—she might end the night on her back for a stranger?
He tucked the panties into his inner jacket pocket.
On the bed, Vasu stirred. He sat up, not looking at her. He ran a hand through his sweat-soaked hair and muttered something in Tamil—a coarse, dismissive phrase that needed no translation. He swung his legs off the bed and stood, his naked body still flushed, his arousal already softening but smeared with the evidence of what he had done. He looked around for his clothes with the bored, efficient movements of a man who had finished his meal and was ready to leave the restaurant.
Jayshree turned her head toward him. Her voice came out as a rasp, her throat bruised and swollen from his grip. "Vasu…"
He glanced at her. There was no tenderness in the look. No reverence. No lingering warmth. He had conquered her, and now she was terrain he had no interest in occupying. He found his jeans on the floor, stepped into them without underwear, and zipped them up. He grabbed his black linen shirt and shoved his arms into the sleeves, buttoning it wrong—one button offset, the fabric hanging crooked across his chest, the silver chain tangled and forgotten.
He sat on the edge of the bed to pull on his shoes, his back to her. Jayshree reached out a trembling hand and touched his shoulder, her fingers light as a moth.
"Vasu…" she said again, her voice breaking.
He stood up, shook her hand off as if brushing away a fly, and walked toward the bathroom. The tap ran for thirty seconds—him splashing water on his face, washing her off his skin. He emerged with his hair wet, his face wiped clean of her, and walked toward the door.
He didn’t say goodbye. He didn’t kiss her forehead. He didn’t look back.
The door opened, clicked shut with a heavy, final sound, and Vasu was gone.
Jayshree lay alone on the bed, naked, marked, used, and abandoned. The room was silent except for the hum of the air conditioner and the ragged, hitching sound of her own breathing. She brought one arm up to cover her eyes, but she did not cry. She had no tears left. She only lay there, her thighs still open, her body cooling, the wetness of Vasu’s release seeping into the sheets beneath her in a slow, warm spread that felt like a stain she would never fully remove.
Behind the partition, Ravi stood perfectly still.
His revenge was complete.
