Description
This course is a complete guided series on theMahāsatipaṭṭhāna Sutta, one of the most important teachings of the Buddha on mindfulness, meditation, and liberation from suffering.
Based on the Wednesday weekly online Sutta class offered byBuddha Meditation Center DC, this course guides students step by step through theFour Foundations of Mindfulness: contemplation of the body, feelings, mind, and mental phenomena. The teachings are presented byBhante Amitha Khema in a practical and accessible way, helping students understand how mindfulness can be applied both in meditation and in everyday life.
Throughout the course, you will learn mindfulness of breathing, body posture, clear comprehension, the 32 parts of the body, the Four Elements, the Nine Cemetery Contemplations, contemplation of feelings, observation of the mind, the Five Hindrances, Five Aggregates, Six Sense Bases, Seven Factors of Enlightenment, Four Noble Truths, Noble Eightfold Path, and the practice of Right Concentration through jhāna.
This course is not only about learning Buddhist philosophy. It is about training the mind to see reality clearly, reduce attachment, understand suffering, and develop inner peace. Students will learn how craving, anger, fear, and mental stories arise, and how mindfulness helps weaken these patterns.
Whether you are new to Buddhist meditation or already familiar with mindfulness practice, this course offers a deep and practical foundation for developing wisdom, calmness, compassion, and freedom from suffering.
