The 42nd floor of the TechNova tower in Whitefield glowed like a glass cage after midnight.

The rest of Bangalore slept under monsoon clouds, but inside, the air-conditioning hummed low and the only light came from a single desk lamp.

Aadhya stayed late to finish the Singapore client deck.

She wore a black silk blouse that clung when she moved and a pencil skirt that had ridden higher than office-appropriate hours ago. Her heels were already off. Bare feet on the cold floor.

She didn’t hear him until the glass door clicked shut.

Rohan, the quiet strategy lead from the London transfer. Tall, always in charcoal, voice like dark coffee. He had been watching her for weeks. Not the usual office stare something colder. Sharper.

“You shouldn’t be alone this late,” he said.

She didn’t turn. “Neither should you.”

He walked closer.

The scent of his cologne mixed with rain and something metallic.

He placed a thin black folder on her desk.

Inside: screenshots, timestamps, a private chat log between her and a competitor’s VP. Evidence that could end her career in thirty seconds.

“I found this,” he murmured.

“I could send it. Or…”

His hand settled on the back of her neck, thumb pressing just under her hairline.

Not gentle.

Claiming.

Aadhya’s breath caught.

She should have been terrified. Instead heat flooded low in her stomach. She turned slowly, met his eyes, and pushed the folder off the desk with one finger. Papers scattered.

“Then don’t send it.”

Rohan’s mouth curved. He spun her around, bent her over the desk in one smooth motion.

The cold glass surface kissed her cheek. Her skirt was shoved up. No preamble.

He freed himself, dragged the thin lace aside, and sank into her in one long, controlled thrust.

She bit her lip hard enough to taste blood. He didn’t rush.

Deep, measured strokes that made the desk creak and her thighs shake. One hand pinned both her wrists at the small of her back.

The other slid under her blouse, found a nipple, and pinched until she gasped.

“You’re wet for a woman who’s about to lose everything,” he whispered against her ear.

She pushed back onto him harder.

“Then take it.”

He did. Harder. Deeper.

The only sounds were skin, breath, and the distant thunder.

When she came, it was silent body locked, walls pulsing around him. He followed with a low groan, forehead pressed to her spine, still buried inside her.

For a long moment neither moved.
Then Rohan reached past her, picked up one of the scattered papers, and turned it over.

Blank.

Every page was blank.

He straightened, fixed his trousers, and looked down at her still bent over the desk, skirt around her waist, cheeks flushed.

“I’ve been trying to get you alone for three months,” he said quietly.

“You never stayed late. Never looked at me twice. So I invented a threat.”

Aadhya slowly pushed herself up, turned, and faced him. She smoothed her skirt down with deliberate calm, then stepped close enough for her lips to almost brush his.

“Next time,” she said, voice velvet-soft, “just ask. But yours… is not worth it.”

She picked up her heels, walked past him without another glance, and left him standing alone under the single desk lamp as the monsoon finally broke over Bangalore.
