Chapter 15
Dr. Urmila Deshpande's Cabin – Around 7:00 p.m.
"Impossible... no way..."
Dr. Urmila Deshpande stared at the laboratory report lying on her desk, her expression frozen in disbelief.
The evening silence inside her cabin was broken only by the soft hum of the air conditioner and the ticking of the wall clock. She adjusted her spectacles and leaned closer to the printed analysis.
Her eyes scanned the report once.
Then again.
Her fingers instinctively removed her glasses. She rubbed her tired eyes, took a deep breath, and wore them again before carefully reading every line for a third time.
Surely there had to be a mistake.
But the words refused to change.
"Sample indicates the presence of toxic alkaloid compounds consistent with those found in Datura species. Further confirmatory testing recommended."
Her heartbeat quickened.
"No..."
She immediately reopened the digital report on her computer and compared it with the laboratory printout.
The values matched perfectly.
Every reading...
Every indicator...
Every observation pointed toward the same unsettling conclusion.
"This can't be right..."
Determined not to rely on a single opinion, she picked up the intercom.
"Dr. Kulkarni, could you spare a few minutes? I need a second opinion."
Within moments, her colleague entered the cabin.
"What happened?"
Without saying a word, Urmila handed him the reports along with the preserved milk sample.
"I've checked it twice. Please tell me I'm overlooking something."
Dr. Kulkarni adjusted his glasses and examined the findings with complete concentration. He carefully compared the chemical markers, reviewed the chromatographic readings, and finally looked at the confirmatory analysis.
Several long moments passed.
Then he slowly looked up.
"...I'm afraid your interpretation is correct."
Urmila searched his face, hoping for even a hint of uncertainty.
"You agree?"
He nodded gravely.
"Yes. The sample contains compounds consistent with Datura. I honestly wasn't expecting this."
Silence filled the cabin.
Neither doctor spoke for several seconds.
Finally Urmila whispered,
"If this sample truly came from what I think it did..."
Dr. Kulkarni completed the sentence.
"...then someone needs to be informed immediately."
She nodded.
Without wasting another second, she picked up her mobile phone and searched for Mrs. Komolini Chatterjee.
Her thumb pressed the call button.
The phone rang briefly before displaying—
Network unreachable.
She frowned.
Again.
The same message.
She tried once more.
Still nothing.
"Come on..."
She walked toward the window in frustration, attempting another call.
No signal.
Her anxiety steadily mounted.
"I have to tell Mrs. Chatterjee..."
..............
Several kilometres away, Komolini's phone remained helplessly disconnected from the network.
The reason soon became obvious.o
Ganpat's SUV had left the main highway nearly fifteen minutes earlier.
The broad asphalt road had gradually narrowed into a rough, uneven track bordered by thick shrubs and scattered trees. There were no roadside shops, no passing vehicles, and no signboards—only an increasingly isolated landscape stretching in every direction.
Dark clouds drifted across the evening sky, muting the last traces of sunlight. The air felt strangely still.
Komolini glanced outside her window.
The silence was unnerving.
The vehicle continued forward for another few hundred metres before Ganpat gently applied the brakes.
The SUV rolled to a stop.
He switched off the engine.
The sudden absence of sound made the surroundings feel even more deserted.
Komolini slowly looked around.
A patchy dirt road extended ahead, broken by loose stones and shallow potholes. Wild grass had begun creeping over its edges, and there was no trace of the highway they had left behind.
Her heart began beating faster.
She instinctively reached for her phone...
No network.
Not even a single signal bar.
A faint knot formed in her stomach.
She turned toward Ganpat.
He was looking through the windshield with a thoughtful expression, as though deciding which way to proceed.
Was he genuinely concerned about the route...
...or was he merely pretending?
For reasons she couldn't explain, she wasn't entirely sure.
The uncertainty sent a shiver through her.
Her breathing grew heavier as she looked once more at the lonely road disappearing into the gathering dusk.
For the first time since beginning the journey, excitement gave way to a quiet, unsettling feeling that something wasn't quite right.
Ganpat glanced through the rain-speckled windshield before letting out a dramatic sigh.
Ganpat: (throwing his hands up theatrically) "We'll have to get down. The road ahead is far too patchy."
He said it with the swagger of an old-college 90s Bollywood hero—half serious, half amused—as though every unexpected obstacle was simply another scene in an adventure.
Komolini adjusted the pallu of her saree neatly over her shoulder and looked at him with visible annoyance.
Komolini: (frowning) "Can't we just turn back and take another road?"
Ganpat scratched the back of his head before grinning sheepishly.
Ganpat: "Arre yaar... how was I supposed to know they'd block the road? Even the map didn't show this."
He pointed toward the steadily falling rain outside.
Ganpat: "Let's at least wait for the rain to slow down. Driving over those stones in this weather isn't worth the risk."
Komolini folded her arms.
Komolini: "Wonderful. Some journey this has turned out to be."
Ganpat couldn't suppress a laugh.
Ganpat: "I've handled smugglers, riots, and late-night highway patrols... but one irritated lady in a saree? That's proving to be my toughest assignment."
Despite herself, the corners of Komolini's lips twitched.
"You deserve it," she muttered.
He leaned back comfortably in his seat.
Ganpat: (with a playful wink) "Don't worry. Trust a cop."
The confidence in his voice lingered in the quiet cabin.
Komolini looked away toward the rain-soaked road, but she couldn't deny the small tremor that stirred within her heart. There was something undeniably reassuring about his calm, masculine presence. Even when he joked, he carried himself with the quiet confidence of someone accustomed to taking charge.
Yet the isolation around them made her unusually conscious of everything.
There were no passing vehicles.
No roadside lights.
Only the rhythmic drumming of rain on the SUV's roof and the lonely stretch of rough road disappearing into the trees.
She gathered her pallu a little more securely around herself and stole a brief glance at Ganpat. He seemed relaxed, scanning the surroundings with the alert eyes of a security officer officer, though every now and then his gaze returned to her with an easy smile.
Komolini quickly looked away.
The silence that followed was oddly comforting... and just a little unsettling.
Outside, the rain only grew heavier.
Ganpat leaned ahead and first brushed his lips against her earlobe with a frisky whisper....."Why not have a humble begening as a couple..."
Komolini felt a stirr inside her heart. Her groin throbbed from the gesture. There was barely any difference between the dribbling rain outside and her labia that had become a faucet. He now kissed the other lobe as well with a whisper "let me take advantage of the whole day!"
Komolini slowly began feeling a strange weakness at the moment. Her nipples hardened but she didn't dare allow herself to leak the milk as she feared Ganpat would find it weird. But as Ganpat chewed on the lobe more, she couldn't help but emit small moans and felt her hips potentially in the mood to buckle and allow more frisky behaviour from the man.
That is when Ganpat brought his lips closer to hers and was about to mash his lips with hers when she again whispered softly..."I still love my husband...,"
Ganpat brushed his lips around her lips teasingly....."correction....ex husband!"
Now his hands moved towards her hips. The curved flesh clearly drawing his attention which peeked out from the confined of her saree grip. But to her surprise he was quite the slow teaser. His fingers tapped on the waist as if playing piano in a naughty manner. The tapping encircled snd toured her entire soft waist until he reached her navel.
A finger poked in...
Komolini hissed in pleasure.
Outside, the first drops of rain began striking the windshield.
Within moments, the drizzle grew steadier, surrounding the parked SUV with the gentle rhythm of rainfall.
The finger poked through the navel like it was exploring the deep area like a naughty little tentacle. Komolini moaned more and it matches with the rainy ambience outside. The shed grew darker and so did Ganpat's intentions. With the other free hand he slowly unbuttoned the first two buttons.
The tension made Komolini bite her lip as Ganpat's fingers gripped her pallu and shifted it aside!
"Wait....what's this?" Ganpat saw her breasts heave up and down in her blouse but what caught his attention was the soaked nipple area. For some reason his cock hardened more inside his trousers and he was just about to grip the mounds of flesh within the blouse and the more his hands came closer, the more Komolini intensified her breathing and felt her labia throbbing as if her inner demons wanted him to grab and maul her melons but before he could do anything...
A sudden loud voice interrupted like an ugly discord in a soothing rhythm...
"Hey! Who the hell are you two?"
The sudden voice shattered the silence.
A short, stockily built man emerged from the curtain of rain and strode toward the roadside shed with an angry scowl.
Startled, Komolini instinctively pulled her pallu back over her shoulders, making sure it covered the nipple patches on her blouse. Ganpat's attention immediately shifted from her blouse clad bosom to the source of the noise as he calmly fastened the top two buttons of his shirt and turned to face the intruder.
The man stopped a few feet away, glaring at them.
"Kya, sahab? Is this a public place?" he snapped. "This is my shed. Get the hell out!"
Ganpat slowly turned toward him. The irritation on his face settled into a cold, unwavering stare.
"Watch your tone," he said quietly.
The man scoffed. "Why should I? You're the one trespassing."
Ganpat took a measured step forward, his broad frame towering over the smaller man.
"Do you have any idea who you're speaking to?" he asked, his voice calm but unmistakably firm.
The stranger hesitated for the first time, though he tried not to show it.
"And why should I care?" he replied, attempting to sound confident.
Sensing the tension building, Komolini stepped closer to Ganpat and lightly touched his arm.
"Ganpat... please," she whispered. "The rain will stop soon. Let's not make this any bigger."
The monsoon rain continued to drum against the roof of the lonely roadside shelter as the three stood facing one another in an uneasy silence.
But the very next moment....
*BANG*!
The man thrashed hard on the ground making Komolini gasp...only to realise the domination Ganpat held as he posed with his revolver emitting the fumes of the gunpowder.
