This is unreasonable expectation.
If readers engage with the story, depending on their experience / personality, they will like or dislike a particular character depending how same is developed as per plot requirements.
Readers can not be expected to be immune to the way character is developed / presented. It is natural for readers to feel bad / feel good for a particular character.

The writer does not have this luxury. He has created the characters. So they are like his children and he must be fair to them as per plot.

My request to you will be do not be swayed by reaction from gallery -- claps and boos.

Be true to envisaged and plot and execute same as per your vision. End of the day it is your story.

Longterm, readers are your fans, not of a particular character.
