Adultery A Husband and Wife’s Playful Texts Turn Into a Complicated Affair [COMPLETED]
Chapter 158 - New Promises Tharun & Nikkitha.

A week had passed. Nikkitha continued staying at Jay’s house. Slowly, they started slipping back into their old rhythm.

It was decided they would legally marry the following Friday. On Monday, Nikkitha submitted her resignation letter to HR. She had made up her mind to stay home during the pregnancy.

That night, as she lay in bed with Jay, her phone buzzed. It was Tharun.
Tharun: Come to my house tomorrow morning.

Nikkitha: House? We usually meet once a month in a hotel right?
Tharun: Mithra and Mom went back to Cochin, not just that, a lot has happened. Tomorrow is our day. I miss you so much.

Nikkitha wanted to break the news about the pregnancy in person.
She felt this was her chance to throw some light into Tharun, which would help him to move on with his life with mithra.

Jay saw the message. He looked at her quietly. “No sex. It’s not good for the baby.”
“I know,” Nikkitha replied. But “He doesn’t know about the pregnancy or our marriage yet. This might actually be good. If he sees I’ve moved on with my life, it might push him closer to Mithra.”

Jay shook his head but eventually sighed. “Fine. But you’re not going alone. I’ll pick you up from his place. I don’t want your stepmother clicking more photos or you stressing out by yourself.”

The care in his voice made Nikkitha’s heart tighten. She nodded silently.
A few minutes later, she asked hesitantly, “Are you really okay with this arrangement? I promised him I’d satisfy his needs once a month until he settles with Mithra…”

“I’m sorry,” she added, voice heavy. “For being so wrong in many ways. For dragging you into all this. This is why I said being in your life only brings you endless pain. Don't have hopes on me, Our marriage won’t work even if we start it again. That's fakeness again.

Jay pulled her closer. “Do whatever you want after the baby is born. For now, we agreed this marriage is fake, so I won’t let it hurt me.

But keep this in mind. We can’t keep living for others forever.  They need to figure out their own lives. I know you forced them together… but you need to stop finding reasons to fix everything.”

“I have one last reason, baby and marriage,” Nikkitha said softly. “I’m going to tell him everything tomorrow, the half truths. Maybe that will finally push him away.”

Jay doesn't know if this would work, but he was determined to tag along with her to protect her.

The next morning, Jay drove her to Tharun’s flat and waited in the car. Nikkitha took the lift to the second floor and texted Jay that she’d call if she needed him.

Tharun opened the door the moment she knocked. Without a word, he pulled her into a tight hug. She didn’t resist, but her mind was downstairs with Jay.

Before she could speak, Tharun’s mouth crashed onto hers in a hungry, deep kiss. His hands roamed her body as he quickly stripped off his shirt and pulled her closer. Heat flared between them. Nikkitha felt his hardness pressing against her, but this time she placed her hands on his chest and stopped him.

“Wait, Tharun. I have something important to tell you.”

“I missed you so much,” he groaned, ignoring her. He lifted her effortlessly into his arms and carried her to the bedroom despite her resistance. He dropped her on the bed, yanked off his shorts, and stood completely naked, his cock hard and throbbing.

“Tharun, listen to me — we shouldn’t do this,” she said firmly.

He grabbed her hand and wrapped it around his thick shaft. “Look what you do to me. I need you the whole day. No fear like you had in the hotel, here just us.”

Nikkitha’s face fell. “I’m sorry… you really need to hear this. Or you might end up hurting me. And the baby.”

Tharun froze. “What? Baby?”

Nikkitha took a deep breath. “I’m pregnant.”

For a second, Tharun looked stunned. Then a wide smile broke across his face. He jumped with joy like an excited father. “It’s amazing! It finally worked!”

Nikkitha frowned. “What worked?”

Tharun scratched his head sheepishly. “I… once swapped your birth control pills with vitamin tablets. I wanted you to get pregnant with me.” So you wont force me to choose Mithra..

The truth hit Nikkitha like a slap. For a moment, she wanted to hit him. But then she realized this stupid, selfish act had become an unexpected gift. Because of it, she was able to reclaim her mother’s assets in time… and more importantly, it had brought her back into Jay’s life even if it was fake or temporary.

Tharun looked at her sat like a still image, he said are you angry with me, i'm sorry, i planned it but before even i think about it you pushed me into this marriage.

Nikkith finally opened her mouth, I'm not angry, I'm only thankful for what had happened.

A smile creeped on Tharuns face..

Tharun beamed. “So I’m not just your lover — I’m going to be a father?”
“No, Tharun.” Nikkitha’s voice was steady. “You’re not my husband. We were never married. You’re Mithra’s husband.

Tharun said, i will marry you too. I will take responsibility. I know why you said Thankful.. You thought of me in mind right?

Nikkitha said no, the reason why I said I'm thankful for what had happened is. Not you, It's Jay.

Tharun asked what?
Yes. The child is Jay’s.”
“Impossible,” he snapped.

“It is possible,” she replied. “I slept with him a lot during that time. I also have medical proof (She lied, so that he would move on or wont get alter thoughts of leaving Mithra). And there’s something else you need to know…”

Before he could fully process it, she dropped the second b omb.
“I’m marrying Jay next week.”

“What?!” Tharun’s face twisted. “Then what about me? What about all the promises you made? You planned all this? I married a woman I don’t love just for you — just to stay close to you. And now you’re going back to your ex-husband?”

“Calm down,” Nikkitha said gently. “I’m not breaking our arrangement. I know what I promised. But you need to see the bigger picture. I know you love me deeply, but Mithra is your future. I was always temporary. I’ll still take care of your needs until you truly settle with her. I trusted that you would start valuing her.”

She continued softly, “Things will only get better when we remove the temptations. I was happy when I heard you talking more about Mithra… even last time I sensed you were moving, especially, when you were inside me, you felt guilty about hurting her. You were thinking about her.

But now… why are they in Cochin? Why are you here alone?”
Tharun sat on the edge of the bed, his erection now limp. He looked defeated.

He could not answer immediately, he was stuck with all revelations, he was disappointed that Nikki is finally moving.. He worried she may not be in his life again.. The reality slapped him.. But he wanted her..
He recalled her question and began answering..

Nothing  goes wrong with me and Mithra, I mean we were at the same place where we started.. But the thing is, My father built a clinic for her at Cochin. She’s going to run her own practice. They asked me to apply for a transfer. It got approved. In a month or so, I have to move.

I kept this flat just for you. For our secret days and nights… but I’ll wait.
After the baby, when you’re ready, I’ll come back to you. I need you.”

“Tharun, I’m getting married. There will be limitations,” she reminded him.
“You promised me,” he said desperately. “I know you won’t leave me in pain.”

Nikkitha looked at him with a mix of sadness and firmness. “Everything is in your hands now. I want a clean closure where we can all be happy without hurting anyone. For all the trouble I caused, I can offer my body to you… but I don’t want to break another heart, especially Jay, he allows me now. But tomorrow? I dont want to complicate anything again.. You need to fit into that world.. Do that for me please….”

She leaned in and kissed him softly. “Promise me you’ll try to move on. I’ll do anything to help that happen.”

Tharun nodded slowly. “I will… but I need some time.”
She nodded

They shared one last deep kiss. Nikkitha pulled away after a minute. “Jay is waiting downstairs. I can’t risk anything right now, especially while pregnant. I won’t be able to meet you in person for a while.”

She cupped his face. “I wish you the best with Mithra. Make sincere efforts. If you still can’t find peace… I’ll know. You cannot fool me,  I won’t deny you temporary relief when you need it. I promise.”

She hugged him tightly, kissed his cheek, and whispered, “Thank you for loving me so selflessly. I’m sorry. But this is what I choose now.”

With that, she left him standing alone in the flat.
