Chapter 141 - Nikitha calls Mithra
For the first time in a long while, Nikitha was truly taken aback.
Sharmi’s words had struck her like a sharp slap. Her solid decision to move forward with Tharun suddenly cracked. Did I really not hear anyone? Did I never truly listen?
She stood alone in the hospital corridor, her mind reeling. She knew she had hurt Jay deeply. She had hurt his parents too. And now, she was forced to accept that she was also the reason Tharun’s parents were fighting with him. Mithra — the woman she had never even spoken to — was trying to reach out, perhaps to patch things up or find closure. Yet Nikitha had never given her a chance to speak.
Deep down, despite everything, Nikitha still believed Tharun loved her. She trusted the man she had chosen. But a quiet voice inside her now wanted to hear Mithra’s side of the story. She didn’t want to be the person who couldn’t please everyone, but she felt a strong need to at least try — to clear the air and make things right in whatever small way she could.
Without overthinking it any further, Nikitha pulled out her phone and dialed Dr. Mithra’s number.
The call rang twice before Mithra answered.
“Nikitha?” Mithra’s voice sounded surprised. “Did you called me mistakenly?
Nikkitha: No I called you.
Mithra: What happened? Is everything okay with Tharun? Whats that noise, like you are in a hospital?
Nikitha: Yea “I’m at the hospital,” .
Mithra’s tone immediately turned anxious. “What? What happened to Tharun?”
“No, no,” Nikitha said quickly. “I came here for a friend. It’s a different story.
The purpose i called you is to .... like...... Last time you wanted to meet me…”
“Yes,” Mithra said cautiously.
“Then let’s meet now.”
Mithra was silent for a moment. “Why suddenly?”
Nikitha took a deep breath. “I just want to talk. I want to hear things. But at the same time, I want to make it clear — to everyone — what I have chosen. I want to speak clearly.”
There was another pause on the other end.
“Alright,” Mithra finally said. “Come to this address. I’ll be waiting.”
Mithra shared the location. Nikitha saved it and cut the call.
She stood still for a few moments, staring at her phone. Her heart was beating faster than usual. A strange mix of nervousness, guilt, and determination filled her chest. Meeting Mithra felt like stepping into unknown territory, but after Sharmi’s harsh words, she couldn’t ignore the growing discomfort inside her anymore.
Nikitha took a deep breath, wiped her eyes, and started walking toward the hospital exit. For the first time in months, she was about to face a part of Tharun’s past that he had always kept hidden.
She didn’t know what answers awaited her, but she knew she had to go.
