Meera sat at her desk, trying to focus on the logistics reports, but every sound made her jump. The office felt like a cage. When Shankar called her into his cabin, her stomach twisted with fear.
She entered and closed the door behind her. Shankar was leaning back in his chair, watching her with that familiar mix of appreciation and something darker.

“You looked so beautiful… walking through these corridors with nothing on. Giving a handkerchied would have ruined the view ”

Ajay held the encrypted phone on speaker so both Meera and Navya could hear.
Raghav’s voice came through clearly, serious and measured.
“We have news. Some of Shankar’s men ran a background check on you and Meera using the identities I created when you first arrived in the city.”
Ajay’s face tightened. Meera’s hand instinctively moved to cover her bare breasts, even though no one else was watching.
Raghav continued, “The investigator realized the identities were fabricated. His detailed investigations led directly back to me.”
Ajay’s eyes showed clear fear. His hand clenched the phone tighter.
“But here’s the lucky part,” Raghav said. “The man who conducted the check is an assistant to Sunny — Shankar’s main driver. What they don’t know is that this assistant is actually an undercover officer from another department. The moment he saw my name connected to the fabricated trail, he quietly contacted his superior. We coordinated immediately and provided a clean, deep background verification for both of you. You’re safe for the moment.”

Raghav added, “We now effectively have two assets in place — one from our side and one from the allied department. The other officer is highly trustworthy, so his man is too.
