but Jay being Jay never tries anything but sex lol" part is a sarcastic jab suggesting that, in the story, Jay's expressions of love or attempts to connect are portrayed as mostly physical rather than through dramatic confrontation or grand actions. Like jay knows only sex to show all his emotions. That didn’t sit well.
