I don't think it is so simple anymore. I am guessing Nikita says I love you to Tharun which she didn't tell Jay till their farewell hug.
Tharun will manage Mithra saying only his and Nikitha's love language matches and his doesn't align with Mithra. If he can ask his own mother saying "Go to your husband if you don't accept Nikitha", wouldn't it be relatively easier for him to tell Mithra similar thought.
For Nikitha to break up with Tharun, the only remaning factor is Mithra. As RCF pointed that is the promise she made to Tharun on that day after the accident. So even if she breaks up with Tharun, it is not an automatic reconciliation with Jay as she feels she is undeserving of Jay.
For Jay he would accept Nikitha if she comes back to him. Even though he witnessed her with Tharun and felt disgust/pain/anger etc., and decided to divorce it was still because Nikitha pushed for it twice. Also while coming down the stairs he felt he deserved it because he did the same with Anjali in the office though circumstances were completely different
Once this story completes i will summarise the thoughts. Even though most people say he made mistakes he actually is the one who made efforts to know Nikitha's feelings at various points in their marriage. Atleast from the written words in chapters , Nikitha never made an attempt to understand his feelings or convey her own feelings before the first date with Tharun. After that she kept on pushing Jay away and never listened or correctly understood what Jay was conveying. When she started understanding it was too late as per her.
Chapter 41 on page 13 is very interesting as Nikitha says she loved him earlier but doesn't love Jay anymore.Jay asks when he proves her love for him, whether she would leave her fling/relationship even if she was in a serious relationship and come back to Jay. She doesn't answer but accepts the challenge.
Heygi, what a story you are telling man. It has almost became an obsession for me to reread some chapters to figure out the clues. I will take a breakfeom this site after this story ends.
