I think if you see progression of Jay Nikitha's intimacy through sex and Tarun Nikitha's intimacy parallely, the final crack between Jay and Nikitha happened after the rough sex between them (after Tarun kissed). Similarly the above scene is also almost like that where Tarun is insecure about jay and he wanted to make her remember him by the brutal way he claimed her. This should be the first crack in Nikitha and Taruns relationship, if we can call it that. He also didn't reveal about Mithra's message. 

Mithra's entry might be the breaking point for their relationship. So I guess we are close to the end than the interval which was around 100th chapter.
