So did the author create the stepmother character just for this purpose? and the step mother was cruel like she planned to marry of her to old man for money !

Now I understand why she got so hurt when Jay equated her with Anjali. Even if he said it only once, it must have dug deep into her wounds. That’s why one single action still makes her so mad at him.

Given such a loveless history, it makes sense why she went to Tharun when he gave her everything she needed.

Nikitha is a beautiful, misunderstood soul for the larger part of her life. I can really relate to that.

Her story comes a short flashback but i had removed it considering pace. 

She had a beautiful life, when her biological mother was alive, who was a musical teacher by herself. Where she gained knowledge of playing Piano. Which is why when she found piano at Tharun's apartment she played it instantly, his house warmly reminded her mother because of piano. 

But i reduced those details, as following scene they had to kiss, and some other elements. 

Nikitha is even misread by many users, but we cant help it, like how she lately understood Jay, audience will take time to understand Nikitha, but before the climax, she would be understood by many. 

Regarding who she will end up, i didn't think that way, climax will be mostly how she going to stay happy, and making her people happy :)
