Chapter 109 : Flicker of Hope
Sharmi’s face brightened with the new realization, but the optimism quickly faded. She grew alarmed and spoke carefully.
“Don’t get too much hope, Jay,” she said gently. “She herself declared to me that she is going with Tharun.”
Jay was visibly shocked. He had suspected they might have consummated their relationship last night, but hearing that she was openly choosing to leave him hit differently. It felt like the world had truly crashed around him. Fresh tears slipped silently down his cheeks.
Sharmi quickly wiped them away. “Jay, don’t worry. Its not the end, after what you said.
I wanted to rethink.
There may be a chance!
If she stayed with you all night, it means she still really loves you.
All we need to do is figure out a way to bring her back to you.”
Once we go back to home, you speak with her!
Speak with her when you two are alone!
Make her understand, make her realize her choices are wrong,
Only you can do that.
Jay gave a weak, bitter smirk. “How? She even left my house before the business trip.”
Sharmi leaned closer. “Yes, but she will come back to you once we return to Bangalore.”
“You don’t know her,” Jay replied, voice heavy with pain. “If she has truly determined to move on, she will. She cares for me — I understand that now. But that doesn’t mean she’ll go back to being her old self. Not after the kind of love Tharun is showing her. Look at how he acts — so understanding, even bringing her here to me. What a selfless display. If she was still at my place, at least I would have had the opportunity to speak to her…”
Sharmi nodded slowly. But she is coming back to home, not going anywhere.
Jay looked confused, what? dont give me false hope.
No Jay just listen,
“I didn’t expect things to reach this point. Few minutes back, When the doctor said you need proper care, I made a strategic decision… I initially thought may be Tharun spinned some lie and i wanted you and Niki to get back at one place, that will sort out the differences naturally, with history of your togetherness. There must be love for sure.
At the same i took that decision without consulting you, its my way of recitfying damage i cause, i kind of caught into guilt, if i had informed her that i was married, she could not have left with Tharun. So its my remedy. The strategic plan made her to choose to stay at your house when we go back.
Jay looked at her curiously. “What how did you made her?
Sharmi explained her calculated threat — how she had used the doctor’s advice about needing constant care to pressure Nikitha into agreeing to stay with him for the next few weeks, she also explained the actual threat was that she will pin a lie and story that will damage everyone of us, plus a legal case on him, they had no other go, she agreed.
Initially i thought she pretend to care, but its a good thing, now i realise you still have chance.
“Use those weeks wisely,” she continued. “Speak with her. Remember she may say she choose Tharun, but Until they actually get married, there is always hope. From everything you’ve told me and what I saw just now… I think it’s going to be very tough for her to move on from you. She will return. But patience is the key.”
Love cannot see sufferings, it will guide her back.
A mild spark of hope finally flickered in Jay’s heart.
“Then the universe is finally hearing me,” he whispered.
Sharmi smiled with renewed hope. “Then stop worrying. Take this chance seriously. Be sincere. Prove yourself to her. Clear all the misunderstandings. Let’s hope for the best.”
Jay was not fully happy, but for the first time since waking up, a quiet determination appeared on his face. There was still a long, difficult road ahead — but at least now, there was a flicker of hope.
