How would you feel if niki out of guilt push sharmi and Jay together.  
I was just kidding but sharmi is introduced as one of main characters so she has important role. Waiting to see how it plays out.

More than guilt her thoughts are towards jealousy so she couldn't bear another woman at this point getting close to Jay.Hence she was thinking herself as hypocrite right, that she herself is trying to move on but she loves Jay and cannot bear Sharmi in her place. So she is still at crossroads with her feelings. I do not consider Sharmi entering into the mix at this point a good sign for those who support Jay and Nikita at the end. 

Which ever direction she takes from here on, its inevitable that one person will definitely gets hurt for sure...
