Adultery A Husband and Wife’s Playful Texts Turn Into a Complicated Affair

Prologue

The Bangalore morning was unusually tense on the second floor of MX Century Gaming Company. A crowd had gathered near the notice board at the entrance. Whispers and shocked murmurs rippled through the open office as everyone read the freshly posted memo.

“Effective immediately, Mr. Mohan Kumar, Branch Manager – Development, has been terminated for gross violation of company policy. He concealed his marital relationship with Ms. Rebecca Mohan (Junior Game Tester) and misused his authority for her direct referral appointment.”

The news spread like wildfire. MX Century was a fast-growing gaming company known for its high-pressure deadlines, brutal crunch hours, and surprisingly competitive salaries — but its strict “No Family Relations” policy was non-negotiable.

A new intern, Priya, stood on her toes trying to read the notice properly. “Why is this such a big issue? Why cant married people work here?…”

Nikitha, a senior gameplay engineer, turned towards her. She looked elegant in a deep lavender saree that dbangd gracefully over her curvaceous figure — professional yet strikingly beautiful. At 27, her friendly and jovial nature made her a favorite among juniors.

Nikitha replied calmly, “Company policy is very clear, Priya. No spouses or partners are allowed... even if they are talented they cant work in the same branch. Zero tolerance.”

Priya still looked confused and not understanding why....

Sharmi, another senior engineer and Nikitha’s close colleague, gently pulled the intern aside. Niki, you have confused her.. “Let me explain it properly.

Priya the issue is different here...  The company allows direct referrals to speed up hiring. In the gaming industry, finding the right talent quickly is critical, especially with tight deadlines. They skip lengthy interviews and screenings. Instead they trust employees to bring in capable people. But many started misusing it — bringing their husbands or wives for double income and easy support. That’s why they cracked down hard.

This is why they disallowed husband and wife in a company in the first place, this will stop direct hires.. And misuse of rules.

Priya asked what if they are truly talented?

Sharmi responded. .. In that case one of them have to leave here and join Calicut or mumbai branch.

priya asked why ? They are talented right? cant they work here?

Sharmi said, higher ups feel, closed relationship working here brings up house fights to office, causing headache to everyone. So if they feel some one is talented they transfer one of them to different branch.

As they spoke, the storage room door near the corner creaked open.

Jay, 28, senior gameplay engineer — tall, charming, with an easy smile — stepped out adjusting his shirt collar. A few moments later, Anjali, a senior from the art team, followed, smoothing down her kurti with a flushed face and a satisfied smirk.

A few knowing glances and awkward smiles passed between the employees. Priya stared a little too long.
Sharmi quickly whispered, “Don’t stare. It’s common here.”

Priya whispered back, shocked, “But husband and wife is banned… yet things like this happen openly?”

Sharmi chuckled softly. “As long as it doesn’t affect work or create proof that HR can act on, the company mostly stays out of it. Flirting, secret hookups, late-night ‘bug fixing’… it’s a pressure-cooker environment. People need an outlet. HR turns a blind eye until it becomes a problem like Mohan’s case.”

Nikitha had gone unusually quiet. Her eyes were fixed on Jay, who had settled at his desk. Anjali leaned over his chair, whispering something intimate into his ear, her hand resting casually on his shoulder. Jay smirked and replied, making Anjali laugh softly.

Priya glanced at Nikitha and said, “Jay sir is so open here…”

Sharmi noticed Nikitha’s intense gaze and quickly dragged Priya away, lowering her voice. “Don’t mention Jay around Nikitha. She’s been interested in him for quite some time. They live in the same building different floor with their families. She always finds excuses — asking him for lifts in his car, extra help with tasks… but these days he seems more into Anjali.”

Priya looked confused. “Wait… isn’t Nikitha married? And Jay also?”

Sharmi nodded. “Yes, both are married — to different people, of course. It’s messy. Nikitha, Jay, and Anjali… all three are married outside.

Priya intervened Mam why this company look like filled with full of affairs suddenly? What kind of work place is this?

Don’t judge too harshly. Very few people here chase this kind of thrill. Most are normal like us. Just focus on your work, Priya. The pay is excellent, especially with the gaming boom. Don’t get caught up in the gossip.”

As the crowd slowly dispersed and people returned to their workstations, Nikitha sat at her desk, pretending to review a gameplay script. But her eyes kept drifting back to Jay and Anjali.

From across the floor, Jay briefly glanced in Nikitha’s direction. For a split second, something heavy and complicated passed between them — something that made Jay visibly uncomfortable.

He quickly looked away.
