Adultery His wife, Her secrets: Rain,Whiskey and Temptation (CH:55 HOT)
Chapter 49 I— Morning After

Morning arrived differently for each of them.

Same city. Same sunrise over Chennai.

But four entirely different storms.

---

Lokesh

Lokesh stood near the kitchen counter with a cup of coffee that had already gone cold.

He barely remembered sleeping.

Fragments of the previous night kept replaying in his mind — Laila’s laughter, the closeness, the silence between words, the way neither of them had stepped away when they still could have.

Nothing irreversible had happened.

At least that’s what he kept telling himself.

But something had changed.

That was the dangerous part.

His wife moved around the house casually, unaware of the chaos in his head, and the guilt sat heavier because of it.

He opened his phone.

Three times he typed a message to Laila.

Three times he erased it.

Because he didn’t know whether he wanted distance from her…

or another reason to go closer.

---

Laila

Laila woke up late, still wrapped in the half-warm comfort of the night before.

For a few peaceful seconds, she simply smiled into the pillow.

Then reality returned.

Lokesh was married.

That single truth quietly ruined every beautiful memory trying to form in her mind.

Yet she couldn’t stop thinking about him.

Not just physically.

It was worse than that now.

She had started waiting for his attention.

Waiting for his voice.

Waiting for the pauses between conversations that felt more intimate than actual touch.

She looked at her phone.

No message.

Her expression changed immediately, though she hated herself for it.

“Good,” she whispered.

But deep down, disappointment had already settled in.

---

Shruthi

Shruthi woke with a pounding headache and blurred memories from the office celebration.

Music.

Lights.

Laughter.

Drinks she normally wouldn’t have taken.

Then—

Karthik.

The memory arrived in flashes strong enough to make her sit upright.

The closeness.

His hand around her waist.

That moment when neither of them had moved away.

And the kiss.

Her breathing became uneven.

She touched her forehead, trying to think clearly.

Was it a mistake?

Was it loneliness?

Or had some hidden part of her wanted it to happen?

That question scared her the most.

Because if she blamed alcohol entirely, she could move on easily.

But if even a small part of her had meant it…

then the situation had already become far more dangerous than she wanted to admit.

---

Karthik

Karthik woke up with the kind of smile that only came after crossing a line he had wanted to cross for a very long time.

Unlike the others, he wasn’t confused.

He remembered everything.

And he knew exactly what he was doing.

He leaned back against his bed, replaying the kiss in his mind with quiet satisfaction.

Shruthi might wake up guilty.

Might avoid him.

Might pretend nothing happened.

But he had seen the hesitation in her eyes before the kiss — and more importantly, he had seen that she didn’t stop him.

For Karthik, that was enough.

His phone screen lit up.

Office group messages.

Hangover jokes.

Photos from the celebration.

He ignored all of them.

Because only one person mattered now.

And somewhere else in the city, Shruthi was probably thinking about him too.

---

By noon, all four would step back into their normal lives.

Normal conversations.

Normal routines.

Normal masks.

But beneath all of it, something fragile had already shifted.

And once emotions cross certain lines quietly…

they rarely return unchanged.
