They already know what they are missing, that is something new and unique compared to other stories, every other story which has adultery is more towards circumstances,forced choices, attraction, thrill of cheating and sometimes blackmail. All of those stories has Husband playing dumb, busy or even out of station where wife commits infidelity without understanding consequences. 

Here, this story has couple understanding between them, they merely speak one words and yet they know the meaning. Lokesh just looks at Shruthi and can tell her every feeling. One word seems enough to carry meaning and frustrations. Yet they do not act upon it, neither of them would even remotely discuss how to make it better, its like there is this constant acknowledgement that their life has come to a standstill while life is moving on elsewhere but not between them but they do not take a step to fix it, rather both of them are thinking to seek solace outside marriage which doesn't make sense. 

Its not naivety nor its stupidity. Its recklessness and acting as though both want to get out of this marriage. Fixing such a dumb couple is useless. Couples who make mistakes can forgive each other, Couples who are forced to make choices can move on in their life but couple who willingly make choice to seek some other person despite both knew where they stand in their life is dumbness. Its like they gave up on their marriage long time back and they do not care anymore.
