I wouldn't go that far, Story needs to revolve around the couple else its meaningless. What you said was right,we could have skipped some chapters because Suresh was earlier trying not to push Gautham and make him a desperate man, he was trying to slow down things so there won't be enmity and they can amicably part ways. I at that point understood the intention and in that process, new characters were introduced and each might have a role even if its not in part 1 maybe part 2 but now reflecting back on all those chapters, Only thing achieved is making Sneha brainless and degrade further to show that sex is her weakness. Gautham ended up becoming enemy anyways, if that was the intention, there could have been a nasty fight one of the times. Esp when Sneha asked Suresh that she will stop going to Gautham, Suresh said no and continue...there at that point story could have been written differently. 

But still I feel that story is going in right direction, Gautham seems will definitely end up humiliating Sneha and Suresh. He will break them apart by end of part 1, Its inevitable. Part 2 is there for them to find a way to come back together I guess.
