Adultery Husband's Controlled Fantasy, Wife's Dilemma - Part I & II
Chapter 158 - Small Comforts on the Road

The drive had stretched nearly seven hours. The highway stretched endlessly ahead, the afternoon sun casting long shadows across the road. Sneha sat quietly in the passenger seat, her gaze fixed on the passing fields and distant hills. She hadn’t spoken more than a few words since they left Bangalore. The hurt from Suresh's betrayal and the fresh Gowtham’s cruel comment still sat like a stone in her chest.

Suresh drove steadily, one hand on the wheel, the other occasionally resting on the gear lever. He kept stealing soft glances at her. He noticed how she kept stretching her neck, rubbing her left shoulder, and shifting uncomfortably in the seat. The long journey was clearly taking its toll on her body.

Without saying a word, he slowed the car and pulled over at a quiet, shaded spot beside the highway — a small patch of green with a few trees offering relief from the sun. He switched off the engine.

“Come,” he said gently.

He stepped out, walked around to her side, and opened the door. Sneha looked up at him, surprised but too tired to resist. Suresh adjusted her seat to recline slightly, then reached into the glovebox and took out a small bottle of pain-relief ointment.

He stood beside her, his hands warm and careful as he began massaging her shoulders and the back of her neck. His fingers worked in slow, firm circles, pressing out the knots that had built up from hours of sitting. The scent of the ointment mixed with the fresh air. Sneha closed her eyes, letting out a soft sigh as the tension slowly began to melt under his touch.

“Twenty minutes,” Suresh murmured. “We’ll rest here. It’ll get worse if we keep going like this.”

After the massage, he took a cold water bottle, wrapped it in a thin cloth, and gently pressed it against her neck and shoulder. The cool relief made her relax further. For the first time in hours, the tight line between her brows softened.

A little later, Suresh stopped at a clean roadside café. He returned with her favorite chilled mango drink and a packet of the spicy masala chips she always loved. He handed them to her without making it emotional — just quiet, thoughtful care.

Sneha took them, her fingers brushing his. She looked at him for a moment, something soft flickering in her eyes, before turning to sip her drink.

They reached the beautiful beachfront resort in Vijayawada around 9:30 PM. Aditya had arranged a spacious, luxurious villa with a private balcony overlooking the sea. The moment they stepped inside, Ramya’s excitement filled the room as she ran around exploring.

Suresh made sure everything was comfortable. He ordered room service — light, comforting food for all three of them. When the trays arrived, he personally fed both Sneha and Ramya, especially helping Sneha because her neck was still stiff and painful. His movements were patient and caring, cutting food for her, making sure she ate slowly.

Later, as Ramya fell asleep between them in the large bed, Suresh turned toward Sneha in the dim lamplight. He gently massaged her shoulder again and whispered,

Sneha didn’t reply, but she didn’t move away either. She still carried anger and hurt inside
“Sleep well.

The Next Morning

After a peaceful breakfast at the resort, they ventured out into the bustling local street market. Ramya was overjoyed, holding Suresh’s hand tightly and pointing excitedly at every colorful stall — toys, sweets, and bright clothes. The narrow lanes were packed with people, vendors shouting, and the rich smell of street food hanging in the air.

Sneha walked beside them, trying to lose herself in the lively atmosphere. She stopped at a small shop selling handmade earrings, picking up a pair of delicate silver jhumkas. They were beautiful. For a moment, she smiled softly.

Suresh noticed and moved closer behind her, one hand lightly resting on her waist to keep her steady in the growing crowd. When she hesitated at the price, he quietly paid for them without a word and slipped the small packet into her hand with a gentle, reassuring smile. Suresh was trying his every best to stay with her, calm her and make her understand, he doesn't choose to betray, it happened without his will. For her to listen first, he needs to stick with her no matter how her anger is .

A few minutes later, while Sneha was admiring bangles at another crowded stall, disaster struck.

The crowd suddenly surged forward like a wave — someone pushed hard from behind, and people started shouting. In an instant, Sneha was separated from Suresh and Ramya. The sea of bodies swallowed her. Panic exploded in her chest.

Where are they?
Her heart hammered wildly.

The fear was irrational, the thought of being lost in this chaotic crowd made her throat tighten.
For more than 5 minutes she could not spot them.

Full of dust and people...

Her hands trembled as she pushed through people, eyes desperately scanning for them.
“Suresh… Ramya!”

Just as tears stung her eyes, a strong, familiar hand caught hers firmly.

Suresh was there.

He pulled her back through the crowd with surprising strength, wrapping his arm around her waist and drawing her tightly against his side. Ramya was safely perched on his shoulders, still laughing innocently at the chaos around them.

Sneha looked up at him, breathing fast, her eyes wide with lingering fear. Suresh’s grip was solid, protective, and unwavering. He didn’t say anything dramatic — he simply held her closer, his thumb gently stroking her waist as if to say, I’ wont loose you.. How big the chaos may be... I’ve got you.

In that noisy, chaotic street filled with strangers and shouting vendors,
Sneha felt her racing heart slowly begin to calm.
Safe.
Protected.

She gently interlocked her fingers with his and held on tightly, refusing to let go. For the first time since the hurt, something deep inside her chest began to soften — just a little.

For a terrifying second, something crossed her mind.
What if they disappear?

What if I lose them even for a moment?
What if Suresh takes Ramya and leaves me here

The fear that had gripped her slowly melted into a quiet, warm relief as she leaned into Suresh’s side, letting him guide her through the crowd.
