That Afternoon

Suresh came home early in the afternoon. Sneha, who had spent the whole day crying, opened the door in surprise.

“So… you didn’t go to her?” she asked hopefully.

“Not yet. Important meetings happened till now. The program was shifted to tonight. Aditya told me to rest until then and said they’ll send a car in the evening,” Suresh replied.

Sneha’s face fell immediately.

That night, Gautham messaged saying he would not come home for dinner because work at the office was not finished.

At eight o’clock, the office car stopped in front of the house. Sneha’s heart started pounding.

After dinner, Suresh changed his clothes and came near her. In a very casual tone, he asked,
“So… shall I go...or do you have any plans with me tonight?” Suddenly, Sneha remembered how she herself had once asked Suresh the same thing before going to Gautham six weeks earlier. It felt like a hard slap across her face.

Hiding the tears rolling down her cheeks, she turned her face away, walked into the master bedroom, and collapsed onto the bed.

Suresh quietly left the house.

Awesome writing. Even though this is just a small portion of the story in a parallel universe still it comforts the reader to a great extent. 

At last someone is showing the mirror to Sneha about how painful it feels seeing your loved ones with someone else. Thank you very much for treating this self righteous stupid whore the way she deserves.
