That’s Jiiva putting some sense into Gowtham. 

From his point of view, Varsha is younger, single, and a better option than Sneha. He wants to divert Gowtham’s focus from Sneha.

That doesn’t mean the author is portraying Sneha as less beautiful compared to Varsha.


It is that characters opinion, not authors.

I know that its Jiva's opinion, When we read a story, other character's opinion is how we picture another character, No where it will be written or you could assume that Jiva is trying to deviate Gautham's focus from Sneha and in that sense he mentioned Sneha is not as beautiful as Varsha.  
He is actually wondering why he is focusing on Sneha when more beautiful Varsha is behind him, that's how it was portrayed. 

So I felt its not necessary to bring Sneha's beauty into contest to elevate Varsha.
