Adultery Husband's Controlled Fantasy, Wife's Dilemma - Part I & II
Chapter 148 - The Old Varsha Returns

The next morning at the hospital, the doctors did their rounds at 7:40 AM.
After checking Gowtham’s reports and the latest X-ray, the senior doctor nodded with satisfaction.

“He’s stable. We can discharge him this evening. The fracture is just a hairline crack. With proper rest and physiotherapy, he should recover well in six weeks. But he needs someone to take care of him at home for the first two to three weeks.”
Suresh and Sneha looked at each other. They had already discussed it.

“We’ll take care of him,” Suresh said firmly. “We’ll bring him home once he’s discharged.”

The doctor gave them some instructions and asked them to meet him for the final discharge procedures. Suresh and Sneha stepped out of the ward together.

Meanwhile, Varsha entered the hospital carrying a small bouquet of fresh flowers.
She was dressed in a bright, elegant churidar — confident, composed, and looking like her old self again.

When she stepped into the ward, Gowtham’s eyes widened in surprise. For a second, irritation flashed across his face, but it was quickly replaced by genuine shock at seeing her like this and at his early hours.

Varsha walked straight to his bed and placed the bouquet on the side table.
Gowtham asked, what are you doing at this hour?

Didn't i say this already, please don't bother me..
I don't know  which Varsha I am speaking to.
The sudden caring or the one who only values money.

Varsha stopped him, calm down.
I too wanted to tell that, like i wont bother you anymore.
Gowtham was shocked and asked ‘What?

She sat down on the chair without waiting for permission.
“I’m sorry for messing things up,”
she began, her voice steady. “I just came to tell you something important.
The one you want to be.. Like I wont bother you anymore.
I’ll only need five minutes. If you allow me, I’ll open myself, spill everything and leave.”

Gowtham, caught off guard by her bold, straightforward tone, simply nodded.
After a pause..
Varsha took a deep breath and began.

“I think I have feelings for you. I can’t name it love yet, but I was blinded by emotion.
Especially after I rejected you so harshly, telling you money was the only thing that mattered and that you were not in my range.
I was right about many things… but I was also wrong.”

Gowtham stared at her, stunned.
She continued, “But my feelings for you are real. They were already there when you were indirectly proposing to me. I said those cruel things to push you away. I even let Rahul get close just to cut you off. That kiss in the car never happened. The gate has CCTV — you can check it.”

Gowtham remained silent, processing her words.

“I’m not here to beg or prove I’m true to you,” Varsha said firmly. “I’m here to clear the misunderstanding and start fresh.
We both at some point expressed we had a feeling for each other, it's just timing got worse. When you expressed it, I rejected you. When I do, you get irritated.

With you coming back to the company, we have to work together again.
With a new team HR will be bringing in.. Our personal issues should not reflect there.
so I decided to clear up to maintain professionalism at the office.

And personally too, I don't want to cheat myself, telling my feelings are nothing.. I really want to give it a chance.
Let’s forget all the odds and be friends from now on. Let’s work together, plan together, grow together. If destiny has something more for us, it will happen. If not, we’ll still be okay.”
I hope this should be okay between us..

She extended her hand for a shake.

Gowtham, still confused and overwhelmed, instinctively reached out. Their hands met.
Varsha gave him a firm handshake and smiled.

Now as we are friends.. I don't want to carry forward our relationship with assumptions.

“Why did you try to quit?” she asked.
“Do you have genuine reasons?”

Gowtham doesn't want to tell the truth, he said I just thought of shifting to a new offer?!
Before he could answer properly, she placed a printed copy of his startup plan on the bed.
I know it already, I just wanted to confirm if you are ready to open up to me.
Thats okay. But your plan and idea is cool.

“How did you get this?” Gowtham asked, shocked.
“I took a print from your PC,”
I never shared my PC password, he said.
“I hacked it.” she said casually
Gowtham’s eyes widened. “What? Are you for real? Are you back to your cunning methods?”

Varsha smiled — the old, confident, slightly dangerous smile he remembered.

“That’s me, always. I tried to be good, genuine, and nice… but being nice just hurts me and my peace. It’s better to be myself.”
The one more reason why I didn't want to give you up and try again and see if we fit for each other is, you know all my weakness, all my Shadiness, which I would have to fear with someone new if they have to fall in love or marry me.

With you I don't have to worry as you know me and yet proposed to me.

They looked at each other in silence, a strange understanding passing between them.

Varsha stood up.

“Good luck with your future — I mean the startup. I’ll help you too.
Get back on your feet soon. We’ll meet at the office.”
She turned and walked out without waiting for a reply.

Outside the hospital, Varsha felt like she could breathe fresh air again.
A weight had lifted from her chest.

She walked to the parking area and got into the Thar.
Mirna was already in the driver’s seat, wearing coolers, looking every bit the powerful woman she was.
“You spoke to him?” Mirna asked.

Varsha nodded, exhaling deeply.
“Yes. He was stunned to see my old self, i could see that in my eyes.
When I’m being myself… It feels so good.
Trying to be nice just hurt me. It’s better to be real.
If a person wants to stay, they will. If not, let them leave.”

Mirna patted her shoulder with a proud smile.
“Let’s go to the company. We have a lot of things to do together to transform this place.”
The Thar roared out of the hospital parking and sped into the streets.
