1. Why thinking only one can work here..// You mistook it , the narrative is that, Varsha started believing, Gowtham is moving or leaving because of her.. She thinks, to stop him, its better for her to leave. 

2. Yes Varsha displaying her extreme because, Gowtham's frequent absence in company is just pushing to that.. internally she did not want Gowtham to suffer anything.. 

Her behavior is attributed to his absence, rejection and sudden coldness towards her.  This where you can see her character arc.
