Chapter 139 - Back to Zero & Plan for Awakening
The next morning, Gowtham woke up with a bitter taste in his mouth.
He realized he was back to zero. His friend’s betrayal still stung. He spent the entire day aggressively networking — calling old contacts, scouting new investors, and refining his business plan so he could launch the startup without his ex-friend. He wanted full ownership of his ideas. No compromises.
He didn’t go to the office.
Prakash, who returned after a series of long meetings, was furious when he saw Gowtham’s resignation letter on Rahul’s desk.
At the office, Prakash returned after a series of long meetings and was furious when he saw Gowtham’s resignation letter sitting on Rahul’s desk.
“Why the hell didn’t you inform me immediately?” he scolded Rahul harshly. “This is not how we handle key people!”
Varsha, who was passing by the cabin, overheard everything. A strange mix of concern and guilt washed over her. She also realized Rahul had deliberately hidden Gowtham’s resignation from Prakash.
She tried calling Gowtham multiple times throughout the day, but he didn’t pick up.
By noon, Prakash personally called Gowtham.
He said he didn't call him to ask for a reason.
He called him to return immediately.
He instantly offered.
“I’ll pay you double if you don’t leave,”
Prakash said firmly. “Come back tomorrow. We’ll discuss it properly.”
Gowtham smirked on the other end of the line. His luck was turning again.
“Fine. I’ll come tomorrow,” he replied. Keeping his cool tone outside.
But inside, the pressure was building. He needed money to survive. If he couldn’t start his startup soon, he would burn through every penny he had saved — just for survival instead of building something new. He was glad that Prakash was rejecting his resignation, else he would have been pushed to reach Prakash, which would have caused him humiliation.
His mind kept drifting back to the rejection he faced with Sneha the previous morning. He could sense a major shift in her — she was leaning more toward Suresh. A lot of things have happened recently. He knew the couple was getting closer to the truth, but not the full picture yet. He still held the upper hand — he had turned every one of her detective attempts into raw sex.
Now he processed why they were still engaging with him despite being closer to the truth. They want something from me, he thought. They’re using me just like I’m using her.
He decided to play along and use Sneha as long as they wanted the game — in the name of “figuring out the truth.” But he also wanted to turn the tide. He needed to pull her attention back to him so strongly that she would overstep Suresh again.
Emotional tricks weren’t working anymore, he had recently sulked but she didn't react. He knew she would still come to him for sex if Suresh was aware — that’s what she had said.
Thought it looked like he was under their control. He decided he would use that token like a path to slowly draw her back into his world.
But to make her stick to him?
He needed something more.
He needed to make her a real addict.
The trick? Giving her sexual awakening so powerful that she wouldn’t decide to stop by herself.
Tuesday Night
The evening felt heavier than usual when they all returned home.
Dinner was quiet. The three of them sat at the table — Suresh, Sneha, and Gowtham. The clinking of spoons against plates was the only sound breaking the silence for most of the meal.
Gowtham barely spoke. He was lost deep in his thoughts — Sneha’s sudden resistance that morning, his friend’s betrayal, the pressure of his startup plans. His face remained tight, jaw clenched. Sneha tried to engage him once or twice with casual food talk, asking if he wanted more dal or if the chicken was spiced right, but even she could sense something was off. Gowtham gave short, polite replies, his mind clearly elsewhere.
When Suresh finished eating, he stood up without a word, took his plate to the sink, and headed toward the master bedroom.
Just as Suresh was about to open the door, Gowtham’s voice cut through the silence — louder than necessary, deliberate. Gowtham had waited for the exact moment.
“Sneha,” he said, his tone casual but pointed. “I may need you tonight. You said your husband should know, right? I have something bothering me… Hope you understand. I’ll be waiting in my house.”
The words hung in the air.
Suresh paused for a brief second at the door, his back to them. He didn’t turn around. He simply opened the door and stepped inside the master bedroom, closing it softly behind him.
Sneha sat frozen for a moment, her heart beating faster. She stood up, cleared the remaining plates, and slipped into the master bedroom.
Suresh was already sitting on the edge of the bed, loosening his shirt.
She stood near the door, hesitant.
“Should I…?” she asked softly.
Suresh looked up at her.
His expression was calm, but there was a quiet weight in his eyes.
“It’s up to you,” he replied evenly.
Sneha bit her lip, then clarified, “No… I mean, you have any plans like.. you want to have sex with me? tonight? I wanted to know your mood…”
Suresh’s face softened.
He was genuinely happy she was considering him first — something that hadn’t always happened during their troubled phase. He stood up, walked over to her, and pulled her into a gentle hug.
“No, darling,” he murmured against her hair.
“We can plan for tomorrow.
Just make sure we’re going to slow things down soon, okay?”
Sneha nodded against his chest, a small smile forming on her lips.
She felt relieved. She kissed his cheek tenderly.
“I will,” she whispered. “I promise.”
She lingered in his arms for a few more seconds, then stepped back. With one last look at him, she turned and walked toward Gowtham’s house.
