Exactly, Author wanted Sneha to sleep with her lover despite the doubts so that she is the sinner, earlier she used to push Gautham away when ever Suresh is upset and that also with out even opening his mouth now once he came out clean and explained his concerns, Sneha trying to please Gautham and initiating sex herself is so out of place. Author wanted to throw her under the bus obviously....Conveniently Suresh is sleeping and locked the door lol 

Author taking liberty sometimes to push the plot is not new but this is uncharacteristic even by that standard. Redemption arc for Sneha has to start somewhere so this was by design.
