Avi’s New Job

After we moved to the new apartment closer to the city, Avi decided it was time to start working again. She had completed her course and wanted financial independence. For the first two months she struggled badly. She applied to dozens of companies through job portals but got very few responses. The few interviews she attended either rejected her or offered very low salaries that didn’t make sense after travel costs.
She would come home tired and disappointed almost every day. Some interviewers were rude, while others made her uncomfortable with personal questions. There were days she cried in my arms saying she felt useless. I supported her fully but she was determined to find something on her own.
One day at the gym, she met Priya — a cheerful girl who worked in the same area. They became friendly and started working out together. One evening Avi told Priya about her job hunt struggles. Priya immediately said, “Why didn’t you tell me earlier? I work for a apparels company and my company mostly hires Indians. They pay little less but at least we get some work experience in this country. My boss Mr. Sharma is looking for a coordinator in his company. The salary is ok and the office is close to our gym.”
Avi was excited but Priya warned her seriously, “Listen Avi, Sharma Sir is nice when it comes to work pressure and growth, but he has a reputation. He likes beautiful women and often tries to get close to them. Many girls have left because of his behaviour. Just be careful.”
Avi came home and told me everything. I saw an opportunity, I asked her to apply. I encouraged her to go for it and use her charm wisely. “Be professional, but don’t be cold. Let him see what a beautiful and smart wife I have,” I told her.

The Interview
For the interview Avi wore a simple cream-coloured salwar suit with a slightly deep neck and a fitted dupatta that occasionally slipped to show her cleavage when she moved. She kept her makeup light and hair open.
Mr. Sharma interviewed her personally in his cabin. He asked standard questions about her studies and experience, but slowly the questions became more personal.
“You are a very beautiful and well-spoken girl, Avi,” he said, looking at her openly. “Does your husband know you are applying for this job? Won’t he mind you working late sometimes or travelling with male colleagues?”
Avi smiled politely and replied softly, “My husband is very supportive, Sir. He wants me to grow in my career. I can handle responsibilities and I’m comfortable working with anyone as long as the environment is professional.”
Mr. Sharma leaned back with a small smile. “Good… because in this line, sometimes you need to be friendly and flexible with clients and seniors. I like people who can adjust and keep important people happy. Do you think you can do that?”
Avi maintained eye contact and answered calmly, “Yes Sir, I’m a quick learner and very dedicated. I will do whatever is needed to deliver good results for the company.”
Mr. Sharma seemed satisfied with her answers and the subtle confident way she carried herself. She got the offer the very next day as a junior coordinator/office assistant.

Work started
In the beginning Avi was very professional and dressed modestly in simple kurtas, salwar suits, and sarees. She worked hard — handling files, managing schedules, documentation, serving tea in meetings, and doing all small tasks. She was basically an office help with a fancy title.
Even in modest clothes, her natural beauty, sweet voice, graceful walk and feminine charm attracted a lot of unwanted attention.
The worst was Mr. Gupta, a 52-year-old senior accounts manager. He was crude and lecherous. From the second week he started targeting her.
He would call her into his cabin multiple times a day for useless work. He would stare shamelessly at her chest and say things like, “Avi, your husband is very lucky. Such juicy assets you have… I mean, such good qualities.”
One day he asked her to bend over and pick up files from the lower shelf while he sat right behind her. When she bent, he pressed his crotch against her ass “accidentally” and moaned softly. Avi quickly stood up and moved away.
Another incident happened when she was working late. Mr. Gupta locked the cabin door and came very close to her, breathing heavily. He touched her shoulder and said, “Avi beta, if you keep me happy, I can recommend a good increment for you. No one needs to know.” His hand started sliding down towards her waist. Avi got scared, pushed his hand away firmly and said, “Sir, please don’t. I am married and this is not right.” She quickly unlocked the door and left the cabin trembling.
There were many such incidents — dirty messages on office chat, unwanted touches while passing files, and vulgar jokes. Many days she came home stressed, in tears, saying she wanted to quit. I would console her and encourage her to stay strong while slowly using her charm where it mattered with the right people.
The Turning Point & Rise
After three months of enduring Mr. Gupta’s harassment and working hard, Mr. Sharma started noticing her dedication. She was given small sales-related tasks and performed well. Slowly she was moved to the sales support role.
That’s when her attitude and dressing started changing. She became more confident, started wearing fitted and slightly more revealing clothes, and learned how to handle flirty comments gracefully. Within six months she became a full sales executive with a good commission structure.

Mr. Sharma began taking special interest in her growth — and that eventually led to the office party where everything changed.
