Chapter 125: The Launch and Unasked Farewell
The next morning, the entire family, including the children, gathered at the launch venue of the new gym shop. The atmosphere was festive — balloons, music, and a small crowd of well-wishers. Rahul stood proudly at the center, cutting the ribbon with a wide smile.
Anandhi stood beside him, holding his hand tightly, looking every bit the supportive wife. She smiled for the cameras, laughed at the right moments, and played the perfect role.
But Rahul’s mind was in turmoil.
Deep down, he was still reeling from what he had witnessed the previous night through the keyhole — his wife undressing for Suriya, taking him in her mouth, moaning in pleasure. The images refused to leave his head. Yet here she was, holding his hand as if nothing had happened, with no visible fear or guilt on her face.
It infuriated him.
He gently excused himself from her hold, muttering something about checking the sound system, and walked over to Madhavan, who was standing near the refreshments.
“Did Anandhi and Suriya look suspicious to you at all?” Rahul asked in a low voice, trying to sound casual.
Madhavan raised an eyebrow. “Not at all. I couldn’t see them sharing even a single eye contact. They’ve been decent all this while. Why? Did something happen again?”
Rahul forced a smile. “No… nothing.”
Madhavan patted his shoulder reassuringly. “You’re overthinking, my friend. They are decent people. They’re keeping it good for the family. They don’t seem to consider that way anymore.”
Rahul nodded, but his eyes kept drifting back to Anandhi.
Only he remembered how they had been tangled in passionate, intense sex just hours ago.
He was quietly wondering how Anandhi and he were putting on such a flawless act — like they had no bond, no tie, not even a small friendship. Not a single lingering glance. It was almost impressive.
After the party ended and the guests left, the core group — Rahul, Madhavan, Suriya, and Anandhi — sat down for a quiet lunch at a nearby restaurant.
During the meal, Suriya broke the news casually, as if it were just another business update.
“As the shop is now open and running smoothly, I’ll be heading to Chennai this week and then to Mumbai next. I may come back only once a year from now on.”
The table fell silent.
Rahul’s fork paused mid-air. How can he move away after so much intense sex last night? dont he miss her?
he also question himself is that a farewell sex like how she did to him when she assumed him as Jeeva?
Anandhi’s face went pale for a split second. She hadn’t known he had such a plan.
Suriya looked directly at Anandhi’s eyes as he continued, “It’s good for all.”
Rahul got the cue immediately. He is moving away to keep the family intact.
For the sake of appearances, Rahul asked, “What is good for all?”
Suriya smiled calmly. “I mean it’s good for every shop… all locations need me on the ground.”
Madhavan asked, “What about the new house you built here?”
Suriya took a deep breath. “Initially I planned to settle here. But I don’t think it’s possible anymore… with me understanding something.”
Madhavan leaned forward. “What do you understand?”
Suriya replied smoothly, “I mean I understand that business needs me in multiple locations.”
He then added softly, “Let me build it. Let the kids use it when they grow up. If I want, I’ll visit them often — like once a year. And the house will be used that time. If not, let me sell it.”
None of them could fully get into terms with the decision.
Rahul realised Anandhi was torn inside. Her face reactions said everything — the slight tremble in her lips, the way her eyes flickered with unspoken pain.
Rahul wanted to do something — to shut Suriya down once and for all — but the decision seemed too easy, too clean. He decided to confront Anandhi at least before Suriya left the town.
The lunch ended with forced smiles and polite goodbyes.
That night, after the children slept, Rahul finally found a moment alone with Anandhi in their bedroom.
He closed the door and looked at her, his voice low but edged with barely contained anger and hurt.
“Anandhi… we need to talk.”
Anandhi turned to him, her expression calm on the surface, but her heart was pounding.
The fragile peace they had been pretending to live in was about to crack.
