Today was the day of Dussehra, and a massive fair was being held in a nearby village, where the effigy of Ravana was to be burned. The entire town of Rajpura was heading there. Menaka, too, had sent every single servant from the palace to the fair—she hadn't even left a single guard stationed at the gate. When they inquired about her plans, she told them she would arrive later, accompanying Mr. Seshadri’s family.
The entire village was streaming toward the fair, and shortly thereafter, a profound silence descended upon Rajpura—and upon the palace as well. Menaka did not want anyone to witness Jabbar’s arrival at the palace.
"Rani Sahiba, I will reach the palace in an hour."
"Very well, Seshadri Uncle. I shall go to the Dussehra fair along with you," Menaka said, and hung up the phone. Just then, the sound of a car pulling up outside was heard.
Menaka stepped out and saw Jabbar, Malika, and Sodhi alighting from the vehicle. Written by Maitri.
"Greetings, Rani Sahiba! We have arrived to lighten your burden. Come, let us sign the papers," Jabbar slurred, completely intoxicated.
The three of them followed Menaka inside, entered the hall, and took their seats. A strange, peculiar odor hung in the air within the hall. Malika, grimacing in disgust, turned to Menaka and asked, "Can't you smell something foul?"
"Not at all."
"Here are the papers; sign them, and within the next three days, the entire sum will be deposited into your bank accounts," Jabbar said, pushing a stack of documents toward Menaka.
Menaka picked up the papers, grabbed a lighter from a nearby table, and set the documents ablaze.
"What is this absurdity!" Jabbar screamed.
"You despicable wretch! How could you even entertain the notion that we—that *I*—would sell our family legacy to *you*? To the very man who destroyed our entire lineage!" Menaka exclaimed, hurling the burning documents onto the sofa, causing it to instantly burst into roaring flames. As the fire began to spread rapidly through the hall, Malika realized that the scent she had detected earlier was that of petrol. She was seized with panic. What, ultimately, did this Queen want?
"We need to get out of here, Jabbar! This woman has lost her mind. She’ll kill herself, and she’ll take us down with her." Grabbing Jabbar’s hand, she gestured for him to make a dash for the exit. This episode written by FunLove.
"None of you are going anywhere! You will stay right here, burn in these flames, and pay the price for your sins!" Menaka roared.
"You bitch!" Jabbar lunged forward and grabbed Menaka, but just then, a sharp, stinging blow landed squarely on his jaw. He thought it was Sodhi who had struck him—but where was Sodhi? This... this was someone else entirely. Sodhi had cast aside his turban; as Jabbar looked closer, his eyes widened in sheer astonishment. It was the King—Yashveer Singh! All this time, this man had been coming to him in disguise, conversing with him, and he—Jabbar—had failed to recognize his greatest enemy!
Someone once said it right: when ruin looms, one’s intellect fails.
"Jabbar, you put both of our innocent sons to their eternal rest. What crime had *they* committed? You should have punished *us* for the mistakes of our father. You should have attacked us face-to-face, like a man—but no. You are nothing but a cowardly rat, and today, you shall die a rat's death."
The fire had now engulfed the entire hall. Malika was just about to slip away unnoticed and flee when the King seized her. "You, too, played a part in Vishwa's murder. Your other paramour—Kallan—told us everything. Come along!" The King bound her with a rope and slammed her down onto the floor. Malika continued to beg for her life, but the King and Menaka seemed to have gone deaf to her pleas. Presented by Maitri.
Moments later, Malika’s screams were drowned out by the rising flames. Raja Sahib brutally beat Jabbar with a burning log, and in the end, used that very log to sear his face, putting him to a gruesome death.
"Menaka, come, let's get out of here. We must leave before Seshadri arrives. Take my hand." He grasped Menaka's hand, and just as they began to exit the burning hall, a large section of the fire-ravaged wall came crashing down right in front of them. "Yash!" Menaka screamed; then, such a thick cloud of smoke billowed up that nothing could be seen.
Where did the two of them—the father-in-law and daughter-in-law—go?
Did they manage to escape that inferno, or not?
Did they, too, perish in the flames? Maitri's creativity.
Fire raged everywhere they looked. Upon witnessing this horrific scene, Seshadri nearly fainted. Somehow, he managed to pull his mobile phone from his pocket and began dialing the security officer and fire brigade.
