Chapter 113: The First Diversion and Crack
Anandhi stepped into the study room silently, her heart pounding so loudly she was sure Suriya could hear it.
She was panicked to see him installing a file recovery software. The progress bar was already moving. Her mind stopped for a second. She needed to divert him, break his focus, stop him from going any further — but she had no idea how.
A shadow moved in the corner of her eye. Suriya turned sharply and saw her standing there.
He quickly turned off the monitor and asked, his voice calm but sharp, “What are you doing here?”
Anandhi’s mind raced. She blurted out the first thing that came to her. “I… I forgot to send a mail.”
Suriya raised an eyebrow. “Whom are you sending a mail to at this hour? You’re just a housewife, right? You’re not going to college anymore.”
Anandhi swallowed hard. “No… I still freelance for teachers. I prepare Q&A papers for them.”
Suriya could not help it — his doubt intensified. He recalled her trembling voice from the previous night. What if she heard something? What if she is hiding something from me? I need to test her.
He stood from his chair and came closer to her. Anandhi was breathing heavily, her chest rising and falling.
He asked directly, “What are you up to, Anandhi? Do you hide anything from me?”
“Why should I hide anything from you?” she replied, her voice unsteady.
Suriya glanced back at the screen. “See, my softwares are still installing… I need to sleep in an hour. I have work early in the morning. If you can work in the morning, that would be grateful.”
But she was hesitant. She didn’t want him to sit on the computer. She wanted him distracted. She said, “I wanted to speak with you… properly. I need to speak.”
Suriya was surprised. A fresh doubt crept in. He decided to play along to see her real intent.
“So you don’t want to work? You want to speak with me?”
Anandhi nodded.
Inside her mind, she had a simple, desperate thought: Divert him. Chase him away from the room just for tonight. Make sure he doesn’t access it at night. He goes out early in the morning and comes only by evening. Then I can make some damage to the PC and blame it on the kids. This was the plan playing in her mind.
But how to chase him away from the room?
She looked at his eyes and said, “Shall we go upstairs? I fear if Rahul or the kids would see us…”
Suriya looked at her with suspicion, yet something in him wanted to let her take the moment. He followed her upstairs.
For almost ten minutes, she didn’t speak anything. Suriya finally asked, “You said you wanted to speak with me, but you are just staying silent…”
Anandhi said, “I’m sorry… I… I didn’t have the courage to speak with you. The family is important for me. I hope you understand…”
Suriya’s patience was wearing thin. “If this is all you are going to say, then I need to go back to work.”
Anandhi panicked. She realised this wasn’t working. She stopped him, grabbing his arm.
“Wait… I… I missed you… I miss you… truly, I miss you,” she stammered.
Suriya could not believe the words coming from her mouth. He looked at her with clear doubt.
She asked, “What is that look?”
He said, “I could not believe what you said. You stayed silent when you saw me the first time. You are always careful, alarmed around me. And all of a sudden you miss me?”
The lingering silence keeps the doubt circling back in Suriya's head.
Suriya decided to up the game, Tease he more.
“Okay, let’s say you miss me. How do you miss me? You promised you would marry me, share a life with the kids — that kind of miss? Or the moments we had for ourselves, our sexual experience — that kind of miss?”
Anandhi immediately said, “Chee… is that the only thing with us?”
Suriya replied, “Exactly. I don’t wish only sex should be with us. Love, trust, friendliness and a lot. But I didn’t get anything, even an ordinary friendship. Where did you go when I was in prison? I understand Rahul and Madhavan are business people, their presence would complicate things. But what about you? I was in my lowest phase then. Where were you? Didn’t you miss me then? For the frauds I didn’t commit, I expected solidarity from you. I don’t trust anybody but you. Why?”
Its not an accusation but the reality, she know she harmed him with a lot, especially giving trust and breaking it. She truly had feelings for him, she believe him to be future but once Rahul came back she ditched him..
She know she break him, she was helpless. She sacrified Suriya for Rahul.
True tears emerged from both of them — a little tiny drop each.
“Convince me… Why? Or console me like you used to do to me?”
Anandhi could not speak anything.
As Suriya came even closer, she stepped back, missed a step, and fell onto the bed behind her with a soft gasp.
Before she could move, Suriya placed both his hands on either side of her head, locking her in place. His strong arms caged her, his body hovering just inches above hers. The heat radiating from him was immediate and overwhelming.
“You used to console me when something went wrong,” he murmured, his voice low and rough. “Remember that night when I was sad about leasing the gym? You came on me… you teased my lips with your lips… then you kissed me deeper. Give me that consolation now. I will admit you really care for me… and that you are not faking it.”
Its very hard for me to believe after all that Happened.
Anandhi trembled beneath him. Her breathing had turned shallow and fast. “You need to believe me, Suriya… I came all the way to speak with you. Back then the condition was different. The doctor said I was weak. I had post-pregnancy complications…(she lied comfortably) I… I… that’s the reason I could not see you…”
Suriya’s eyes darkened. “Okay, thats in the past.. But things are okay now, right?”
He lowered himself slowly, his chest brushing against her breasts. “You care for me now. You said you missed me. That’s why you brought me upstairs… to meet me like this.”
He brought his face dangerously close. Their noses touched first — a soft, teasing brush. Then he began moving his nose against hers in slow, deliberate strokes, like a sensual sword fight, rubbing side to side, up and down, teasing the sensitive skin. His warm breath mingled with hers. Every small movement sent sparks through her body.
“Come… console me,” he whispered, his lips hovering just a breath away from hers. “Prove to me you care for me like this. Just close this small gap between our lips…”
Anandhi was stunned. Her memories flooded back — his hands on her body, the way he used to claim her, the raw pleasure they once shared. The proximity created an unbearable sexual pull deep in her core. She felt herself growing wet, her nipples tightening against the fabric of her nightdress. She closed her eyes for a moment, fighting the urge, but when she opened them again, her mouth instinctively moved closer, almost brushing his.
For a split second, her lips parted, ready to surrender.
But reality crashed in.
“We agreed… I remain his wife,” she whispered, her voice shaking.
She pushed against his chest with both hands, though her fingers lingered a second longer than necessary on the hard muscle beneath his shirt.
Suriya didn’t move immediately. He stayed there, letting her feel his weight, his heat, his controlled desire.
Anandhi’s breath was ragged. “I want to speak with you… but if you keep having those things in mind, then I have to move away like before.”
She gathered whatever strength she had left and added, “See, I have to send questions to college. You use the system tomorrow. I will speak with you one to one when you behave normal.”
She slipped out from under him and hurried out of the room, her legs unsteady. She realised she cannot delay damaging the PC.
Back downstairs in the study, she quickly shut down the PC. Her hands were trembling. She looked around desperately and spotted a bottle of coconut oil on the shelf. Without thinking twice, she opened the side panel of the CPU and poured a few drops of oil directly onto the hard drive area. She had made sure that the oil is spotless or leaked on cabinet. She closed everything back as it was and went to her room.
She collapsed onto the bed, sweating heavily, breathing hard. Her body was still buzzing with unwanted arousal and guilt.
Upstairs in his room, Suriya remained on the bed, stunned and unmoved. He stared at the ceiling, a dangerous smile slowly forming on his lips.
He kept believing she was really opening up her heart.
But really, she had only bought herself time… and damaged the PC.
Anandhi stepped into the study room silently, her heart pounding so loudly she was sure Suriya could hear it.
