Chapter 9: The biggest storm is here to disturb everyone
Ravi reached home well past 8 p.m., the scooter’s engine cutting off in the quiet lane. The pooja had long ended. The ladies had left, the house was neat again, and the faint, lingering aroma of camphor still hung in the air like a gentle reminder of everything that was supposed to be pure and peaceful.
But inside Ravi’s head, the 400-crore scam was screaming.
He stepped in, forcing a tired smile as Priya came to the door to greet him. She looked beautiful in her cream saree, the mangalsutra resting calmly against her chest, but he could see the faint lines of worry around her eyes.
“Late today?” she asked softly, taking his bag.
“Some files… nothing serious,” he lied, the words tasting bitter. The image of the red-inked refusal and the massive figures kept flashing in his mind. *400 crores. This isn’t a small corruption. This is a monster.* He smiled again, wider this time, trying to hide the storm inside. “How was the pooja?”
Priya nodded, her own smile not quite reaching her eyes. “It went well. The ladies loved it. But… you missed it.”
She didn’t push. She never did. Even though her heart felt heavy — the astrologer’s warning, the strange unease from the market, the way the evening had felt incomplete without him — she kept it locked away. *No need to spoil his mood after a long day,* she told herself.
They ate dinner in near silence. A few polite words about Aisha’s studies, the weather, nothing more. Both of them carried their own burdens, neither wanting to burden the other.
Later, in the bedroom, they lay side by side under the slow-turning fan. Priya, still in her nightie, turned toward him. She shifted closer, deliberately pressing her big, rounded ass against his groin in a soft, teasing way — a quiet invitation only a wife of twenty years could give. She wanted to feel him respond, to pull her close, to lose themselves in each other like they always did.
But Ravi didn’t move.
His mind was elsewhere — the rowdy-looking men who had approached him outside the office earlier that evening, their words still ringing loud:
“Approve the contract sir, do it by tomorrow. 50 lakhs for you. No one is going to find it, think and make it easy for everyone. Don’t make it difficult for yourself, sir.”
He had refused on the spot.
Now the weight of that refusal pressed on his chest like a stone. This was bigger than he had imagined. Much bigger. He couldn’t sleep. He couldn’t even turn toward Priya.
Priya felt the rejection in his stillness. She lay there quietly, her heart sinking. *He is really upset tonight,* she thought, pulling the sheet higher. She didn’t ask. She simply closed her eyes and prayed silently for her family’s safety.
**At the same time, in another part of the city…**
Ambika reached home late, still carrying the faint, sticky reminder of Rathore on her skin. Venkatesan was already asleep, exhausted from the day. She slipped into the bathroom, took a long, hot shower, scrubbing herself thoroughly. Yet no matter how hard she washed, she could still feel him — his cum, his spit, his dominance.
She changed into her nightie and lay down beside her sleeping husband. The mangalsutra rested cool against her chest now, but she could still sense the faint stickiness in the chain — a reminder she had missed a spot while cleaning. The memory of the pooja at Priya’s house flashed in her mind. *Priya… her mangalsutra pooja… shit. Atleast I should have called later and informed her about my absence. Anyways should visit her before I leave the city* she was thinking randomly about priya, the pooja and shifted her thoughts to rathore.
She couldn’t sleep.
Rathore’s words about Sanjana kept revolving in her head. *Is she got big tits like you?* That hungry look in his eyes… she knew exactly what it meant. She could not let her younger sister fall into the same trap. She would get the money back or the seat somehow — but she would never let Sanjana become another one of his toys.
Her mind raced with calculations. *How do I arrange the meeting without spoiling Sanjana? How do I keep her away from him?*
Beside her, Venkatesan slept peacefully, unaware of the storm raging in his wife’s heart.
Two homes.
Two couples lying in bed.
One filled with quiet love and hidden worry.
The other filled with secrets, shame, and an ever-growing shadow named Rathore.
And the damage was only beginning to spread.
The next morning, Ambika woke up late, her body still aching from the previous night. She laid in the bed for a long moment, staring at the ceiling. The transfer was confirmed. They would be leaving the city by coming week. A strange mix of relief and sadness washed over her. Before everything changed, she wanted to see Priya one last time — the one person whose quiet strength had always made her feel a little less broken.
She got ready quickly, choosing a simple yet elegant saree, and left the house , even Venkatesan left to office early to finish his last procedures before leaving the city
Priya woke up a little later than usual. The bed beside her was empty. Ravi had already left for the office without a word, without even the usual morning coffee together. That was unlike him. He never slipped out like this unless something was really wrong. A knot of worry tightened in her chest.
*What emergency could it be?* she thought, getting up and starting her morning routine. She felt unsettled, the peaceful glow of yesterday’s pooja already fading.
When Aisha came out of her room dressed for college — wearing a fitted top with sleeves that still showed a hint of cleavage and tight jeans that hugged her figure — Priya’s irritation flared immediately. She was already tense because of Ravi.
“Go and change into something decent,” Priya said firmly. “That is not how you go to college.”
Aisha rolled her eyes internally. She had planned to meet her boyfriend Siddharth after classes — maybe sneak into a movie, let him press her breasts in the dark theater, feel his hands on her. But with her mother in this mood, it wouldn’t be easy today.
*Bad luck for him,* she thought with a sigh, and went back to change.
As Aisha left the house, Ambika arrived from the opposite direction.
“Hi aunty,” aisha greeted with a tired smile.
Ambika corrected her gently but warmly. “Don’t call me aunty. I am younger than your mother. Call me akka.” She said with a wink
Aisha smiled softly. “Okay, okay akka. Don’t me mad, Anyways its getting later for my college see you later take care” and left the house
Ambika saw priya at the door step. They hugged. Meeting her after a long time, Ambika was really happy to see priya . Priya invited her inside, and they sat in the living room. Ambika spoke about missing the pooja, how she had been unwell. Priya told her how beautiful it had been, how the ladies had praised the arrangements.
Then Ambika mentioned the transfer.
“We are leaving the city soon,” she said quietly. “Venkatesan’s transfer came through.”
Priya looked surprised. “How come? It’s not easy to get a transfer to your hometown so quickly. Now you can be with family… and your sister Sanjana too.”
The word “sister” hit Ambika like a slap. Sanjana’s face flashed in her mind — young, innocent, full of dreams. The thought of Rathore’s hungry eyes turning toward her made her stomach twist with fear. She forced a smile and brushed it aside.
“Yes… it will be good to be closer to family,” she said, avoiding Priya’s eyes and “transfer was possible with help of some powerful contacts… good to be connected with powerful people you know” her mind was still thinking about rathore and his hard fuck when she mentioned the word powerful.
Priya felt a small pang of jealousy. She wished the same for Ravi — a promotion, a better posting, some relief from the constant financial struggle. *Hopefully good times will come for us too,* she thought silently, handing Ambika a small packet of homemade sweets and some return gift for the Pooja event.
Ambika hugged her tightly before leaving. As she walked away, her mind was spinning with calculations. *I have to protect Sanjana. I cannot let her near him. But I also need his help to get the money back or the seat… without involving her.*
She knew she was playing a dangerous game.
**At the same time, in the Tahsildar office…**
Ravi’s bad times had officially begun.
He had spent the morning reviewing the file again. The more he dug, the clearer it became — this was massive corruption, far bigger than he had imagined. He could not take it anymore, rejected the approval outright and filed an official complaint to the higher department about the suspected fraud.
As he walked out of the office early, two rowdy-looking men approached him near the gate. One of them blocked his path while the other spoke in a low, threatening voice.
“Ravi sir this is the last warning, why are you delaying. Just Approve the contract . Have you seen 50 lakhs. The money which you cant earn in your life time.
Ravi looked them straight in the eye.
“I have already rejected it and you will see the consequences soon for talking to me like this” he said firmly in a confident
But he men smiled coldly and walked away.
Ravi continued toward home, but his steps felt heavier. He knew this was only the beginning of a dangerous journey.
**Back in Anna Nagar…**
Priya stood alone in the living room after Ambika left, her mind still lingering on the conversation. She wished Ravi would get some good news soon — a promotion, a transfer, anything to ease their struggles. She touched her mangalsutra gently, whispering a silent prayer for her family’s safety and happiness.
Ravi reached home that evening looking visibly shaken he came soon that his usual timings. His shoulders were slumped, his usual steady gait replaced by heavy, reluctant steps. The moment he stepped inside, Priya could sense something was deeply wrong.
Priya had been waiting for him, She had noticed he left early that morning without a word and he came home soon today — something he never did. She wanted to ask, but she held back until they were alone in the bedroom after dinner.
“Ravi… what happened?” she asked softly, sitting beside him on the bed. “You left without even drinking coffee. You’ve been quiet since yesterday. Tell me.”
Ravi stared at the floor for a long moment, then finally spoke, his voice low and tired.
“I found out a file… its not regular one and it’s not small too. It’s a 400-crore scam. Something big that was never seen in my experience . Anyways I rejected it and filed a complaint to the higher department. But when I was coming out of office… two men approached me outside the office. They offered 50 lakhs if I approve the contract. When I said I already refused it , they smiled like they already knew what would happen next their smile was really strange though I was confident when I spoke their smile gives me a weird bad feel.”
Priya’s heart sank. She listened quietly, her face calm on the surface, but inside she was terrified. She didn’t show it — she never wanted to add to his burden. Instead, she placed a gentle hand on his arm.
“You did the right thing, Ravi,” she said firmly, her voice steady. “We have always lived with dignity. We cannot compromise on that. Whatever comes, we will face it together.”
But in the back of her mind, the dots were connecting rapidly. The strange unease she had felt since yesterday — the astrologer’s warning, the heavy feeling during the pooja — it all made sense now. This was the “bad thing” that had been hovering. Some negative image was behind it. And now her husband was standing directly in its path.
She advised him softly, “Be careful, Ravi. Don’t take any risks alone. We will find a way.”
**At the same time, across the city…**
Rathore received the news while he was in the middle of a private meeting, campaigning for a powerful party leader friend. His jaw tightened when his man informed him that Ravi had not only rejected the file again but had filed an official complaint.
His eyes darkened with cold fury.
“That middle-class fool thinks he can stand in my way?” he muttered. “He has no idea what expensive damage he just caused me.”
He wanted to punish Ravi immediately — violently, personally. But he was busy with the campaign. He couldn’t afford to be distracted right now.
“Immediately Implement Plan B, I want him to suffer today” he ordered his men coldly.
The word Plan B means to Plant the 50 L cash in ravi’s desk as already planned and the inform the corruption department right away so they can catch him.
“ Let him taste what happens when someone says no to me.” Rathore thought cunning while he was in the meeting
That same evening , everything changed.
Rathore men took care of everything immediately as they usually do.
Ravi was called back to the office for an “urgent meeting.” When he was talking to priya, He informed her and reached office. There is a crowd near his desk. When he reached his desk, the anti-corruption team was already there. They opened his drawer and found thick bundles of cash — exactly 50 lakhs — neatly placed inside.
Ravi stood frozen, stunned. “This is not mine… I didn’t…”
But the evidence was there. The complaint he had filed earlier that day now looked like a cover-up. He was suspended on the spot, with immediate effect.
Ravi came home shattered. His face was pale, his eyes empty. Priya took one look at him and knew something terrible had happened as expected. The urgent meeting has brought them a bad news. She didn’t need to ask — she could feel the shift in the air.
She held his hand tightly, her own heart pounding with fear.
“Whatever it is ravi, tell me ” she whispered, voice trembling but determined, “we will face it together.”
But inside, she was terrified. The bad feeling she had been carrying since yesterday had now become reality. She didn’t know what to do. She knows something big has happened, she didn’t know how to protect her family from the shadow that was closing in.
Ambika, lying awake beside her sleeping husband, also couldn’t sleep . Rathore’s words about Sanjana kept echoing in her head s. She had to find a way to get the money back or the seat without involving her sister. She could not let Sanjana fall into the same trap. She is also planning to leave the city this week to get keys of her new apartment and set things there in the new city which she got transferred. Meanwhile she wants to settle her sisters college issue as well. She could not sleep and was deeply thinking how to plan it
Rathore was irritated after the call. That night the news that Ravi had rejected the file burned in his chest. Though he punished ravi he was looking for some entertainment to ease him from this tension, He paced the room for a moment, jaw clenched, then grabbed his phone and texted Ambika:
“Meet me tonight. We need to discuss your sister’s college matter. And I want a good fuck before my flight tomorrow morning.”
Ambika read the message in her bedroom, her heart sinking. For a split second, a clever, desperate idea formed in her mind.
Why not take Sanjana with me? We can meet Rathore at his place before his flight. He’ll be in a hurry, so he won’t have time to seduce her or drag me into bed. We’ll just talk about the issue. He will have time only for some light flirting with her. Meanwhile, I will request and make him call the MLA and talk about the seat — either we get the seat or the money back. Then he will leave for the airport. Safe. Quick. No real risk to Sanjana.
She typed her reply with trembling fingers:
“Can we meet tomorrow morning? I can bring my sister too. So I can directly introduce her to you. What time is your flight? I can bring her before you leave home.”
She hit send and stared at the screen, praying he would agree.
Rathore read the message almost immediately. A slow, dangerous smile spread across his face.He could read her mind like an open book.
She thinks she can outsmart me by bringing her sister along, he thought, amused. She believes the rush of the flight will protect them.
How cute.
But now he had a much better plan.
He replied:“Okay. Bring her. We’ll meet at my place at 9 a.m. sharp. I’ll make sure we finish the discussion quickly before my flight.”
He set the phone down, his smile turning darker.
Two sisters nice. This is going to be interesting.
That same night, in Anna Nagar, Ravi could no longer hold it in.
The moment they were alone in the bedroom, he broke down completely. Tears streamed down his face as he told Priya everything — the planted cash in his desk, the immediate suspension, the freezing of their bank accounts until the “investigation” was complete, and the crushing humiliation of being accused of the very corruption he had tried to expose.
“We are finished, Priya,” he whispered, his voice cracking with despair. “They’ve frozen everything. I can’t touch our savings, our accounts… nothing. I’m suspended until I prove I’m not guilty. Everything we built — our dignity, our future, our little home — it’s all at risk now.”
Priya was stunned. Tears sprang to her eyes instantly, but she forced them back. She held him tightly, her arms wrapped around his broad shoulders, whispering soft, comforting words.
“Don’t be worried, Ravi,” she said gently, her voice steady even as her heart shattered. “ Everything happens for a reason. You are a honest person you didn’t do anything wrong here. We can prove it. Believe in the truth ravi. Whatever is it will face it” She spoke in a motivated tone
But deep inside, a new and dangerous thought began to take root.
She spoke to him positively, reassuring him that they would find a way, that God would protect them. Eventually, they lay down in bed. Neither could sleep. Priya lay silently beside him, staring at the ceiling, her mind racing with worry.
Suddenly, Ambika’s words from their last conversation echoed in her head:
*Powerful contacts helped with the transfer… good to be connected with powerful people.*
She hated herself for even thinking it. She had always believed in Ravi’s honest ways. But this was different. This was a dangerous, frightening moment. Ravi would never agree to outside help — he only believed in doing things the right way. Yet Priya was terrified for their family.
She decided quietly that tomorrow morning, after Ravi left for whatever remained of his job, she would call Ambika.
She had to explore the possibility.
Tomorrow was going to be a big day.
Two women.
Two desperate needs .
Two paths leading straight toward the same dangerous man.
The game had entered a deadly new phase.
Would Priya’s quiet strength be enough to protect her family?
Or would Ambika’s secret deal pull them all deeper into Rathore’s web?
Tomorrow would decide.
