Chapter 79: The Choice That Broke Her
The morning arrived with soft sunlight streaming into the villa. Anandhi woke up earlier than usual, her heart heavy with everything that had happened the previous night. She quietly slipped out of bed, went to the kitchen, and prepared two cups of strong ginger tea — the way Rahul liked it.
She returned to the room and gently shook him awake. When Rahul opened his eyes, she sat on the edge of the bed, holding the steaming cup toward him.
“Rahul…” she began hesitantly, her voice trembling. “Last time you left me alone to suffer. Please don’t do that again. Stay with me. We are a family. I need you… the kids need you.”
Rahul took the cup but didn’t drink. He looked at her steadily and asked the question she feared the most.
“What about Suriya?”
Anandhi looked down at her hands, fingers twisting nervously. After a long silence, she spoke honestly, her voice barely above a whisper.
“I know we have messed up his life. Let me be frank with you… I like him too. He was there with me during my lowest phase. I don’t want to lose him either.”
Rahul let out a short, bitter laugh. “No wife would ever say something like this to her husband.” He shook his head, still smiling sadly. “It was me who wanted you to marry him. I left you with him and walked away. I have no right to reclaim you now.”
Anandhi interrupted immediately, her eyes filling with tears.
“I was never someone’s to reclaim. I was always yours, Rahul.”
Rahul’s expression hardened. He set the tea aside and looked straight into her eyes.
“I have seen you having wild sex with him, Anandhi. You were screaming his name while he fucked you on the floor. And now you say you were always mine?” His voice grew firmer. “I want to hear it from you clearly. It has to be me or him. Choose just one. If you don’t want me, I will move out today. But if you want me, I will stay. I cannot share you — whatever the reasons may be.”
He gave her only two options: take him in completely or leave him out.
Without waiting for her immediate reply, Rahul stood up and walked out of the room. He went straight upstairs and found Suriya standing near the balcony.
“I have regained my memory,” Rahul said openly, his voice loud and clear. “I have no intention of giving her to anyone now. Luckily, you two are not legally married yet. I’m taking her back. You need to back off.”
Suriya turned slowly, his jaw tightening.
Anandhi, who had followed Rahul, stood frozen between them. She could feel a fight about to break out. Panic rose in her chest.
“I can’t leave anyone out!” she cried, stepping between the two men. “I like both of you. I wish to stay in marriage with Rahul… and I also wish to do wifely duties to Suriya.”
Both men stared at her in stunned silence.
Suriya let out a mocking laugh. “If you want both of us, then tell us — who will you sleep with every night?”
Anandhi’s voice shook but she answered honestly. “I… I will stay with you on alternate days.”
“No,” both men said at the same time.
Rahul’s voice was cold. “I cannot split you date-wise.”
Suriya added sharply, “I want you fully for myself.”
The tension exploded. Voices rose. Accusations flew. Rahul and Suriya stood face to face, chests heaving, ready to cross the line into physical fight. Anandhi tried desperately to push them apart.
“Stop! Please stop!” she begged, tears streaming down her face.
Suddenly, her vision blurred. The world spun. Her knees gave way and she collapsed onto the floor with a heavy thud.
Both men froze instantly. Their anger vanished in a second, replaced by pure panic.
“Anandhi!” Rahul shouted, dropping to his knees beside her.
Suriya was already lifting her head. “Call the doctor! Now!”
They quickly carried her to the bedroom and called a lady doctor, who arrived within twenty minutes. She checked her pulse, blood pressure, and did a quick examination. The two men stood on either side of the bed, faces pale with worry.
After a long silence, the doctor looked up at them, his expression serious but calm.
“She’s stable now… but there’s something you both need to know.”
He paused, then delivered the news that shocked both men to their core.
