Outside the hotel, Manish sat in Rajasahab's car, showing him the contents of his kit. "And this, Sir, is chloroform—the tool we use to incapacitate our target and take them into custody."
"Do you guys actually have legal authorization to use all this?"
"No, Sir—but to catch people like him, we have to resort to such methods," Manish said with a smile.
"Look there, Sir—both of them are coming out now. I'll head over to my bike," Manish said, opening the door and quickly rushing off toward his motorcycle; his kit, however, had been left behind in the car.
Kallan and Malika got back into their car and drove off, with Rajasahab and Manish following close behind. Their car was now speeding along the road leading out of the city. While driving, Rajasahab called Menaka; evening had fallen, and he knew she would likely be waiting for him. He had no idea how long it would take to apprehend this man. "Hello? It's Yashveer speaking. I won't be coming home tonight."
"What kind of behavior is this? Here I am, waiting for you and you just... honestly! What on earth is this urgent business with the lawyer?"
"Oh, come on—something ‘did’ come up. Don't be upset; I'll be back with you by tomorrow morning. Alright? Okay, bye!"
Even while speaking on the phone, he never took his eyes off the car ahead. As he took a left turn, he suddenly found himself stuck amidst a religious procession. Malika's car, however, had managed to pass through just before the procession spilled onto the road. Rajasahab nimbly swerved his car into a side alley, though Manish wasn't quite as quick. A short while later, having navigated through the maze of alleys, Rajasahab emerged back onto the main road. Accelerating rapidly, he began scanning the area in search of the other car. After about three or four minutes, they spotted the car and began tailing it.
Manish somehow managed to maneuver his bike out of the traffic jam, but the moment he tried to pick up speed, the bike sputtered and stalled. "Shit! Madarchod (Motherfucker)—what the hell happened to it now?" He hopped off instantly to check the bike, but it still wouldn't start. He immediately dialed Rajasahab. "Sir, first I got stuck in a jam, and now my bike has broken down. Where have you reached?" Written by Maitri.
Rajasahab’s mind worked swiftly; today, Jabbar’s man was going to die at his hands, and he certainly didn't want any witnesses to the event.
"Manish, it looks like he’s slipped through our fingers. We lost him because of that procession. Don't worry about it; just get your bike fixed and head back. We’re heading back ourselves, too—though no amount of praise would be enough for you, son. You did a phenomenal job, but perhaps luck was on his side, which is why he didn't fall into our hands today."
"Thanks, Sir, but I wouldn't have felt truly at ease until he was actually captured."
"No matter. Alright, let's hang up now. We're driving."
"Okay, Sir."
Malika’s car had now left the city limits and entered a sparsely populated area. There were only a few scattered houses there—some of which were still under construction. None of the houses looked like places where a full family actually resided. The road the car was traveling on was flanked by an empty field on one side, while the other side featured just two houses, separated by a distance of about half a kilometer. Malika’s car finally came to a halt at the very end of the road, right in front of the second house; this was Kallen’s hideout. Presented by Maitri.
Rajasahab pulled his own car off the road and parked it about a kilometer back. He grabbed his kit, stepped out of the vehicle, skirted around behind the first house, and then sprinted toward the rear of Kallen’s residence. The car had come to a halt, and Kallan, having stepped out, walked around to the driver's side to speak with Malika, who was seated behind the wheel. Rajasahab approached the side of the house, took up a position nearby, and began to observe them covertly.
