26. Raj's Rose Petal Ploy

The week had been a whirlwind for everyone involved. Raj had recently closed a major deal for his company, a deal that had been in the works for months and required countless late nights and tireless dedication. To celebrate, he had planned a special evening. He wanted to share his success with the people closest to him, and what better way to do that than to thank Gayatri, who had been a supportive friend throughout his journey?

Raj knew how much Gayatri loved movies and thought it would be a perfect way to relax and celebrate. However, he also knew he needed to get Siva’s approval for such an outing to ensure everything was above board.

One evening, Raj met Siva and brought up his idea.

"Bhayya, I have great news. I finally closed that big deal I was working on. I want to celebrate, and I thought it would be nice to take you and  Bhabhi to that new private theater in town. You both have been such a great support through all my stress, and even I know how much she loves movies. I wanted to share with you first, of course."

Siva, always the supportive friend, smiled broadly. "That’s fantastic news, Raj! I’m really happy for you. And I think that’s a great idea. Gayatri could use a break too. She’s been managing a lot at home lately. Just make sure she has a good time." Relieved and happy, Raj thanked Siva. 

"Thanks, bhayya. I promise it’ll be a nice, relaxing evening. Nothing but a good movie and some laughs."

Raj called Gayatri the next day with an invitation. "Bhabhi, I’ve got some exciting news. I finally closed that big deal I was working on, and I wanted to celebrate. You’ve been such a great support and listener through all my stress. How about we watch a movie at this new private theater I found? It’s supposed to be amazing. Bhayya is totally on board with it."

Gayatri, always happy to celebrate her friends' successes, agreed without hesitation. "That sounds wonderful, Raj. 

Congratulations! You deserve a break after all the hard work."

On the day of the celebration, Siva got some urgent work and the private theater plan could not be rescheduled or canceled. He asked Raj to continue with the plan and take Bhabhi to that place. He also informed Gayatri the same. As both understood Siva’s work nature, they had to agree. Siva went to work. Raj came and picked up Gayatri, who looked radiant as always. They made their way to the theater, a cozy and luxurious space with plush recliners and an intimate ambiance. Raj had arranged everything down to the last detail, ensuring the evening would be special.

As they arrived at the theater, Raj handed her a bouquet of flowers. "Just a little thank you for all your support. It means a lot to me." Gayatri smiled, touched by his thoughtfulness. "You didn’t have to do this, Raj, but thank you. I’m glad to be here to celebrate with you."

They settled into their seats, the soft lighting adding to the atmosphere. Raj had chosen a romantic classic, one of Gayatri's favorites, knowing it would touch her heart and make the evening even more special. 

Raj glanced at her, a teasing smile playing on his lips. "You are not a princess." Gayatri's smile faltered, a hint of disappointment creeping into her eyes. "I know..." she murmured, her voice tinged with a touch of sadness, looking down at her hands. Without a moment's hesitation, Raj reached out and gently lifted her chin, his fingers tender against her skin. His gaze locked onto hers, filled with sincerity and warmth. "You are a queen."

Gayatri's cheeks flushed a delicate pink, and she quickly averted her gaze, unable to hide her embarrassment. "Shut up..." she whispered, a shy smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. Raj chuckled softly, his hand lingering for a moment before letting it drop. "It's true," he insisted gently. "You're my queen, and don't you forget it."

Gayatri's blush deepened, but she couldn't suppress the smile that spread across her face.

Raj took her hand and kissed it with a gesture fit for royalty. He then took a red rose from his pocket and handed it to her. Gayatri's eyes sparkled as she accepted it, smiling. The movie began, and Gayatri, feeling relaxed and content, reclined and allowed herself to drift into a semi-sleep while watching the film.

Raj, however, was entranced by her. He couldn't take his eyes off her lips. Unable to resist, she whispered, "Please, watch the movie." He moved closer, inhaling the scent of her hair. "Hmm, no problem... you being around is a pleasure."

Gayatri turned her head slightly and smiled at him. Raj closed his eyes and leaned in, brushing his face against her hair, then her neck, taking in her scent deeply.

She shrugged him off gently. "Watch the movie, Raj." Raj, persistent, whispered, "You came for the movie. You watch it. I came for you. I'll watch you." Gayatri chuckled softly. "Chi... go. Please, it's so awkward to get started for so long." Raj leaned back but couldn't resist planting a kiss on her earlobe. "Okay, I won't stare at you." He moved closer again, this time letting his lips linger on her earlobe. Gayatri sighed, a mix of frustration and pleasure. "Please don't start this again... hmmmm."

Raj's playful tone returned. "Bhabhi, you enjoy the movie, and let me enjoy mine." He let his tongue explore her earlobe, and she moaned softly. His hands moved to her shoulders, gently gripping them as his tongue continued to play over her earlobe. Gayatri moaned louder, knowing they were alone and allowing herself to enjoy the sensation.

Raj's kisses moved from her earlobe to her neck. Gayatri pushed him back into his seat, trying to regain control. "Watch the movie, Raj." Raj reached for the red rose she held, his eyes locking with hers. A nervous smile played on Gayatri's lips, her heart fluttering in her chest like a hummingbird's wings. "Please, Raj, let's just watch the movie," she pleaded softly, her voice tinged with a hint of anticipation she couldn't quite suppress.

Ignoring her plea, Raj gently lifted the rose to her lips, his gaze never wavering. "Did you know, Bhabhi," he began, a mischievous glint in his eyes, "that the petals of this rose and your lips share a few similarities?"

Intrigued, Gayatri tilted her head, her curiosity piqued. "Like what?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with a mix of apprehension and excitement.

Leaning closer, Raj's voice dropped to a low murmur, sending a shiver down Gayatri's spine. "They both are red," he said, his warm breath ghosting over her skin. "Both incredibly soft..." He paused, allowing the tension to build, before adding, "And both utterly irresistible." His lips brushed against the velvety petals, sending a jolt of electricity through her.

A playful giggle escaped her lips as she swatted his arm, but her eyes betrayed her amusement. "You're such a tease, Raj!"

Undeterred, Raj continued his sensual exploration of the rose. His tongue traced the delicate edges of the petals, lingering on their velvety texture as his eyes remained locked on Gayatri's. A silent conversation passed between them, unspoken desires simmering beneath the surface.

Then, in a move that stole Gayatri's breath away, Raj gently bit into one of the petals, savoring its sweetness with a slow, deliberate motion. Gayatri's cheeks flushed a deep crimson as she watched, a mix of embarrassment and arousal coursing through her veins. Unable to meet his gaze, she turned her head away, her heart thrumming in her chest. The air between them crackled with unspoken desire, the tension so thick it was almost tangible.

Raj reached for the second big red rose Gayatri held, his fingers grazing hers, lingering just a second longer than necessary. When the rose descended to her chest, Raj paused. He hesitated for a brief moment, letting the anticipation build as he brought the rose over her twin curves. With a playful glint in his eyes, he tapped the rose lightly against her chest—once, then twice—mimicking the soft bounce of her assets beneath the fabric of her saree. She exhaled a shaky breath, her heart pounding so loudly she could barely hear the storm of emotions swirling inside her.

Then, in a single moment of pure temptation, Raj let the rose fall from between them. The petals brushed down her chest as the flower slipped away, landing softly on her lap. 

With nothing left to separate them, Raj’s lips finally met hers in a kiss that was both soft and searing. His lips pressed against hers with slow, deliberate pressure, tasting the warmth and sweetness he had longed for. Gayatri’s breath caught in her throat, her lips trembling under the weight of the kiss. She felt a rush of heat flood through her, her body shivering with a mix of excitement and nervousness.

“Raj...” she whispered, her voice soft and hesitant, filled with a mixture of longing and uncertainty. She opened her eyes to meet him, finally finding the strength to speak, though the words stuck in her throat. “We... we can’t... this can’t happen...”

As her grip tightened, the petals began to loosen, slipping from their delicate hold. She pressed the rose harder, the soft petals yielding to the pressure of her conflicted emotions. The sight of the flower crumpling in her grasp mirrored the storm brewing inside her—the turmoil, the helplessness, the desire for something she knew she shouldn’t want but couldn’t resist.

Her body betrayed her, just as the rose did, its once-perfect bloom now falling apart in her hands. She looked at the petals as they loosened, some fluttering to her lap, scattered like her thoughts. Without saying a word, he reached for her hand, gently prying the rose from her grasp. The petals, now fully loosened, fell apart in his palm. He held them for a moment, feeling the weight of the unspoken emotions between them, then slowly leaned forward, his gaze never leaving hers.

In one fluid motion, Raj lifted the handful of loosened petals and let them slip from his fingers, scattering them over her. The soft, fragile petals floated down, brushing her skin like the faintest caress as they landed on her chest, her shoulders, and her lap. Each petal seemed to carry the weight of their unspoken connection, an expression of the feelings they were too afraid to voice.

The cool silk of her saree and the warmth of her skin were now covered in the soft remnants of the rose, their scent enveloping them in a cloud of intimacy. Gayatri’s breath hitched as she felt the petals land softly against her body, each one a reminder of the kiss they had shared, the passion that still lingered between them.

Raj’s fingers grazed her arm as the last of the petals fluttered down. He looked into her eyes, his expression tender yet filled with longing. “You don’t have to say anything, Bhabhi,” he murmured softly, his voice a gentle reassurance. “I know.”

Gayatri’s eyes fluttered closed for a moment, the feel of the petals against her body, the warmth of Raj so close, overwhelming her senses. She was lost in the sensations—the soft press of the loosened petals against her skin, the gentle way Raj had poured them over her, the unspoken understanding between them.

As the movie’s final credits rolled, neither Raj nor Gayatri moved immediately. Their breathing was shallow, their bodies tense, and though the film had ended, they remained suspended in the charged silence, reluctant to break the moment but knowing they had to.

Finally, they pulled apart, the heat of their closeness lingering in the air. Gayatri felt her heart hammering in her chest, her pulse still racing from the passion that had ignited between them. She covered her face with her hands, trying to steady herself, trying to hide the turmoil etched across her face. Her cheeks were flushed, not just from the kiss but from the overwhelming wave of emotions that now consumed her—desire, confusion, and guilt, all tangled together in a knot she couldn’t unravel.

She had enjoyed it. She couldn’t deny that. The way Raj’s lips had felt against hers, the tenderness of the moment, the way her body had responded so naturally—it was all still fresh in her mind, replaying in vivid detail. But along with that pleasure came a crushing sense of guilt. Her mind replayed everything in agonizing slow motion, the thrill of the kiss now clouded by the reality of what it meant. She was married. Siva was her husband. And Raj... Raj was his best friend. The boundaries they had crossed in that darkened room were undeniable, and the weight of that realization pressed down on her like a heavy burden.

She peeked through her fingers, glancing at Raj. He sat beside her, silent, staring at the dark screen as though searching for something to say, but the words wouldn’t come. His jaw was clenched, his expression a mixture of longing and regret. He looked over at her then, and for a moment, their eyes met—two people caught between desire and responsibility, trapped in the aftermath of a moment they couldn’t take back.

The silence between them was deafening, filled with unspoken words and emotions neither of them knew how to express. Gayatri opened her mouth as if to speak, to break the tension, but no words came. What could she say? She was just as lost as he was, overwhelmed by the depth of what had just happened. Finally, Raj stood, his movements slow and reluctant, as if he, too, didn’t want to face the reality that awaited them outside of that small, intimate space. “We should go,” he murmured, his voice low and strained, his gaze lingering on her for a moment longer.

Gayatri nodded, her hands still trembling as she lowered them from her face. She stood, smoothing her saree, trying to compose herself, though inside she was a storm of conflicting emotions. Without another word, they made their way out of the screening room, the echo of their footsteps the only sound in the quiet hallway. The atmosphere between them was heavy, thick with everything they weren’t saying.

The drive home was agonizing in its silence. Raj’s hands gripped the steering wheel tightly, his knuckles white, as though concentrating on the road was the only thing anchoring him to reality. Gayatri sat beside him, her gaze fixed out the window, watching the city lights blur into streaks of color as they passed. Her heart ached with the weight of the kiss they had shared, the warmth of it still lingering on her lips, even as her mind fought to make sense of it all.

She wanted to speak, to say something, anything, that could bring some clarity to the swirling emotions inside her. But every time she opened her mouth, the words dissolved into silence. What could she possibly say? That she had enjoyed the kiss more than she should have? That her heart was pounding for a man who wasn’t her husband? That her mind was spinning with confusion and guilt? Nothing felt right. Nothing could erase what had already been done.

As they neared her home, the tension only grew thicker. Neither of them spoke, the silence between them now a chasm too wide to cross. When Raj finally pulled the car to a stop in front of her house, he sat there for a moment, staring straight ahead. He seemed to be gathering the strength to say something, but instead, he just turned to her, his expression unreadable, and softly said, “Bye.”

The word hung in the air, empty, devoid of the warmth that usually accompanied their partings. Gayatri’s heart clenched at the sound of it. She couldn’t even muster the strength to smile. Her lips felt heavy, the weight of what had happened too much to bear. She nodded, her voice barely a whisper as she replied, “Bye.”

She stepped out of the car, her legs feeling weak beneath her, the cool night air doing little to calm the storm raging inside her. As she walked to the front door, she felt the heat of Raj’s gaze still on her, but she couldn’t turn around. She couldn’t face him again—not tonight. Her hands fumbled with the keys as she opened the door, slipping inside the quiet safety of her home, the place where things were supposed to make sense.

But as the door closed behind her, Gayatri leaned against it, her eyes closing as a tear slipped down her cheek. The guilt gnawed at her, tearing at her conscience, but deep down, beneath all the turmoil, she knew the truth. No matter how much she tried to deny it, she had wanted that kiss. And that was the most terrifying realization of all.

Gayatri spent the rest of the day in a daze, avoiding eye contact with everyone around her. When Siva inquired about her mood, she feigned a headache and retreated to bed early. As she lay there, her thoughts consumed her. 

She checked her phone and found a message from Raj: "Lovely taste. An erotic good night kiss."

Her heart raced as she archived the message, caught in a whirlwind of pleasure and guilt. She glanced at Siva, who was snoring softly beside her, and cursed her fate for the turmoil that swirled within her. Just then, another message from Raj chimed in: "Thanks for the lovely taste, 

Bhabhi. It's been like heaven."

Gayatri couldn’t help but reply, her fingers trembling as she typed: "Heaven!!! You are making hell for me."

Raj responded, "Well, sometimes you need to go through hell to get into heaven."

Frustration bubbled within her as she retorted, "You’re good with words... but I'm drowning in guilt."

Raj’s response was gentle but firm. "Bhabhi, just ask your heart if it feels guilty or if it feels pleasure."

She sighed deeply, feeling the weight of his question. "I don’t know... It’s a mix of embarrassment, awkwardness, and guilt. I can’t even look anyone in the house in the eye."

She added, her tone shifting to a more serious note, "And please, no more clever words to confuse me, Raj. You know Siva is my husband and your dear friend."

Raj reassured her softly, "I'll never forget that. I want him to be happy, and I want you to be happy too. Thank you for the wonderful day. You truly made it special. I hope there are many more like it."

Gayatri felt a pang of guilt at his words but pushed back, her voice firm. "Shut up. That was the first and last time you will have this effect on me. You need to know where the limits are."

Raj’s response carried a hint of defiance. "No limits for me, Bhabhi."

Gayatri's heart raced at his boldness. "There are limits... We live in society, Raj. What we did was wrong, and it should never happen again."

She paused, letting the weight of her words settle. "So please, don’t argue with me. I can’t take any more of this. Bye, Raj."
