Siva - Gayatri Raj
#42
14. Chintu got injured

A few days after that, Raj received a call from Siva. Siva was out of town on a business trip, and there were a few items that he needed Raj to hand over to Gayatri.

“Raj, I left some important documents and a small gift for Gayatri at home. Could you please drop by and give them to her?” Siva asked over the phone. “Of course, Bhayya. I’ll head over there right away,” Raj replied, eager for another chance to see Gayatri.

Raj arrived at Siva’s house in the late afternoon. As he approached the door, he could feel his heart rate quicken, memories of their last encounter playing in his mind. He rang the doorbell, and within moments,

Gayatri opened the door, greeting him with her usual warmth.

“Raj! Come in, come in,” she said, stepping aside to let him in.

Raj walked in, handing over the documents and a small, beautifully wrapped package. “Bhayya asked me to give these to you. He wanted to make sure you got them safely.”

Gayatri smiled as she took the items from him. “Thank you, Raj. You’re always so helpful. Please, sit down. I’ll make us some coffee.”

Raj watched her as she moved gracefully towards the kitchen, the subtle sway of her saree drawing his eyes. He couldn’t help but admire her beauty, her elegance. He sat down on the sofa, his mind wandering, anticipation building.

A few minutes later, Gayatri returned with two steaming cups of coffee. She handed one to Raj and took a seat across from him. The conversation was light at first—Raj inquired about Chintu’s day at college, and Gayatri shared little anecdotes about their son. As the coffee cooled,Raj's eyes followed Gayatri as she moved, lingering a beat too long on the way her saree dbangd across her shoulder. He quickly looked away, hoping she hadn't noticed his sudden fascination.

He knew he shouldn't be looking at her like that, not his friend's wife. But the way the afternoon light caught the fabric, making it shimmer, was hard to ignore.

After some time, Raj broke the silence with a compliment.
“Bhabhi,” Raj said softly, his voice filled with admiration, “you have no idea how beautiful you are. Every time I see you, I’m more captivated than before.”

Gayatri blushed, lowering her gaze slightly. “Raj, you always know how to make me smile. But you shouldn’t say things like that.”

Raj set his coffee cup down, moving closer to her. “I can’t help it,” he admitted, leaning forward slightly. “You’re so graceful, Bhabhi. Every time I see you, I’m reminded of how beautiful you are, how much admiration I have for you.”

Gayatri smiled shyly but didn’t say anything. She started to clear the coffee cups, trying to ease the tension. But Raj was already standing, moving closer.
“Bhabhi, remember when we played carrom the other day?” he asked, his voice lowering.

Gayatri stiffened slightly, unsure where the conversation was heading. “Yes, of course. Why do you ask?”
Raj put his coffee cup down, leaning in a little closer. “You lost, and I made a request... a small one. But we never really settled that, did we?”

Gayatri’s heart skipped a beat as she realized what Raj was referring to. She tried to brush it off again, her voice light but nervous. “Raj, you were joking. I didn’t take it seriously.”

“I wasn’t joking, Bhabhi,” Raj replied, his tone gentle but firm. “I meant what I said. It’s just a kiss... nothing more. I’ve been thinking about it ever since.”

Gayatri’s pulse quickened. She hadn’t expected Raj to be so persistent. She stood up, trying to move away from the conversation, but Raj followed her, his voice calm yet insistent.

“Raj, please. This is not appropriate. I’m your friend’s wife,” she said, her voice wavering between firmness and uncertainty.

Raj, sensing her hesitation, tried to soften his approach. “I know, Bhabhi, and I respect you. I would never want to make you uncomfortable. But... It's just a small thing. You know I’m harmless. It’s just something I’ve always admired, like someone admiring a piece of art. Please.”

Gayatri shook her head, still processing his request. “Raj, this isn’t right... You shouldn’t be talking like this.”

Raj moved a step closer. “It’s just a moment, Bhabhi. I won’t push for anything else. I promise.”

Before she could respond, Raj gently took her hand, his touch sending a shiver down her spine. He pulled her closer, his arm slipping around her waist, drawing her into his embrace.

Gayatri hesitated, caught between her discomfort and Raj’s pleading tone. He had been so helpful recently, especially with Siva being away. “Raj…” Gayatri began, but her voice faltered as she felt his warmth, the intensity of his gaze.

He leaned in, his lips brushing against her ear as he whispered, “You’re like a beautiful dream, Bhabhi. And there’s one part of you that I just can’t get out of my mind.”

She took a deep breath, trying to regain control of the situation. “Raj, this isn’t right. I can’t let you do that.”

Raj’s hand gently touched her arm, his fingers warm against her skin. “Please, Bhabhi. Just one kiss. I promise it won’t go any further.”

Raj’s heart leapt. “I promise, Bhabhi. Nothing more.”

Gayatri hesitated, her mind racing. She knew she should say no, that this was wrong, but Raj’s gentle tone and the sincerity in his eyes weakened her resolve. She turned away, as if contemplating his request, and then sighed, feeling cornered.

Without waiting for a reply, Raj’s hand moved to her midriff, his fingers deftly moving the fabric of her saree to reveal her navel. He gazed at it for a moment, as if savoring the sight, before leaning down and pressing his lips against her skin.

Gayatri gasped, her body tensing under his touch. She knew this was wrong, but the sensation overwhelmed her, clouding her judgment. Raj’s kisses became more fervent as he murmured, “It’s nothing but your beautiful navel, Bhabhi… it’s like my favorite dish, something I crave more than anything else.”

He moved closer, his breath shaky as he knelt down slightly, his lips hovering just above her navel.

Without wasting a moment, Raj leaned in and pressed his lips to her navel, the soft warmth of her skin electrifying him. He kissed it gently, savoring the moment he had been fantasizing about for so long. The sensation overwhelmed him, and before he could stop himself, he kissed her navel again, this time more passionately, even blowing softly against her skin.

Gayatri gasped, her body tensing at the sensation. She wasn’t sure how to react—her mind screamed that this was wrong, but her body responded to the intimacy of the moment. She felt torn, guilt creeping in but clouded by the unexpected feelings stirred by Raj’s touch.

“Raj... please... this is not right,” she whispered, her hands pushing against his shoulders in an attempt to create distance.

Raj pulled back slightly, his fingers still resting on her waist as he looked up at her, his eyes filled with emotion.

“I know, Bhabhi. I just couldn’t help it. You’re so beautiful... too beautiful.”

Before Gayatri could say more, her phone suddenly rang, breaking the intensity of the moment. Startled, she immediately stepped away from Raj and reached for her phone, grateful for the interruption. The tension evaporated as she saw that it was a call from Chintu’s college.

“Hello?” Gayatri answered, her voice tinged with concern.

The voice on the other end was calm but serious. “Mrs. Gayatri, Chintu had a minor accident at college. He’s okay, but we recommend taking him to the hospital for a checkup.”

Gayatri’s face turned pale as she listened. “Oh my God! I’ll be there right away.”
She hung up the phone, her earlier concerns about Raj vanishing. “Raj, Chintu’s been hurt at college. I need to go to the hospital!”

Raj, recognizing the gravity of the situation, immediately shifted from flirtation to seriousness. “Let’s go, Bhabhi. I’ll drive.”

In the car, the intensity of what had just transpired between them hung unspoken in the air, but both were too focused on Chintu to address it.

They rushed to the college together, their previous conversation now a distant memory. When they arrived, Chintu was sitting in the nurse’s office, holding his arm with a small bandage wrapped around it. His eyes brightened when he saw his mother, but there was a trace of pain in his expression.

“Mummy!” Chintu called out, his voice small.

Gayatri rushed to his side, crouching down to his level. “Chintu, my baby, are you okay? What happened?”

Chintu sniffled, trying to be brave. “I fell while playing, Mummy. My arm hurts a little.”

Raj stood by, his protective instincts kicking in. “Let’s not take any chances. We’ll get him to the hospital and have the doctors check him out properly.”

They wasted no time getting Chintu to the hospital. The doctors examined him and reassured Gayatri that it was just a minor sprain and some bruising, nothing too serious. Despite the relief, Gayatri’s worry didn’t fully dissipate until they were back home.

Siva was out of town on a business trip, leaving Gayatri and Raj to manage everything on their own. As the evening turned into night, Gayatri sat by Chintu’s bed, watching over him as he slept.

Raj, seeing the exhaustion in Gayatri’s eyes, gently suggested, “Bhabhi, you should get some rest. I’ll stay with Chintu.”

Gayatri looked at him, grateful but conflicted. “Raj, you’ve done so much already. I don’t want to burden you.”

Raj shook his head, his voice firm but kind. “Chintu is like my little friend. There’s no burden. You need to rest, Bhabhi. I’ll take care of everything.”

Reluctantly, Gayatri agreed and retired to her room, though she left the door slightly ajar, her motherly instincts keeping her alert.

Raj stayed up all night. He watched over the boy, making sure he was comfortable and that his pain was managed. Every so often, he would quietly check on Gayatri, ensuring that she too was resting.

By morning, Chintu was feeling much better, his spirits lifted by the sight of both his mother and Raj by his side. After the doctors confirmed that Chintu could go home, Raj once again handled the discharge and drove them back home.

Back home, Chintu was settled into bed with his leg propped up on a pillow. He was still tired from all the crying, but he was calmer now, thanks to Raj’s reassurance throughout the ordeal.

Raj left and he came back around 3 PM. He checked on Chintu’s doing upon his arrival. After that Chintu had fallen asleep again, worn out from the ordeal, and Gayatri tucked him into bed before joining Raj in the living room.

The house was quiet, except for the soft hum of the ceiling fan. Raj sat on the sofa, his mind still buzzing with thoughts of everything that had happened—the hospital, the concern for Chintu, and, of course, the intense moment they had shared before the phone call. He could feel the weight of that moment still lingering between them.

Gayatri sat down next to him, letting out a sigh of relief. “I’m so glad Chintu’s better today,” she said, her voice soft but tired. “Thank you for being there, Raj.”

Raj smiled warmly at her, feeling a mixture of pride and tenderness. “You don’t have to thank me, Bhabhi. I’ll always be here when you need me.”

A comfortable silence settled between them, but Raj’s thoughts kept drifting back to the kiss. He hadn’t planned on mentioning it again, but the atmosphere was too intimate, too charged to ignore.

After a few moments, Raj spoke quietly, his tone gentle and thoughtful. “Bhabhi… we are glad Chintu is better now. But do you remember what happened before the phone call? Before we rushed to the hospital?”

Gayatri froze for a second, feeling her heart skip a beat. She looked away, clearly uncomfortable but not completely surprised that he brought it up. “Raj… let’s not talk about that,” she said softly, her voice wavering slightly.

Raj, sensing her hesitation, didn’t want to push too hard. He leaned back, his eyes soft and full of admiration. “I understand, Bhabhi. I just can’t stop thinking about how beautiful you are... especially your…!!!”

Gayatri’s breath caught in her throat. She hadn’t expected him to be so direct, and yet, the way he said it was gentle, almost reverent, rather than lustful. It was more admiration than anything else.

Raj continued, his voice low and soothing, as if he were sharing a secret. “It’s not just about how it looks… It's something about the way it’s so perfectly shaped, so delicate. It’s like a work of art, Bhabhi.”

Gayatri shifted uncomfortably, but a part of her was flattered by his words. She had never been complimented in such a specific way before, and though she knew she should stop him, she found herself listening, captivated by his tone.

“Raj… I’m Siva’s wife,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper, as if reminding herself more than him.

“I know,” Raj replied softly, his eyes never leaving hers. “And I respect that. I really do. But admiring your beauty… there’s nothing wrong with that, is there?”

Gayatri looked down, her fingers nervously fidgeting with the edge of her saree. “I’m not used to hearing things like this, Raj,” she admitted, her voice trembling.

Raj smiled warmly, his voice tender. “You deserve to hear it, Bhabhi. You’re beautiful in so many ways, and not just because of how you look. It’s your kindness, your grace… and yes, the way your saree always falls just perfectly, revealing a glimpse of your navel. I think it’s one of the most beautiful things about you.”

Gayatri blushed deeply, unable to stop herself from feeling a mix of embarrassment and flattery. “Raj, please… you shouldn’t talk like this,” she murmured, but there was no real force behind her words.

Raj leaned in slightly, careful not to invade her space too much, but close enough that his words carried the weight of their meaning. “I’m not asking for anything, Bhabhi. I just wanted to tell you how I feel. Every time I see you, especially when your saree dbangs around your waist like that... I can’t help but admire the way you carry yourself. It’s more than just physical beauty—it’s the way you move, the way you are.”

Gayatri’s heart raced. His words were so soft, so intimate, that she didn’t know how to respond. She knew this was crossing a line, but the conversation didn’t feel vulgar or inappropriate—just deeply personal. She was torn between wanting to end it and feeling something stir inside her that she hadn’t felt in a long time.

She cleared her throat, trying to break the tension. “Raj, it’s late… we should… we should talk about something else.”

Raj nodded, sensing that she was overwhelmed. “Of course, Bhabhi. I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable. I just wanted you to know how special you are to me, how beautiful I think you are… especially your navel. It’s just something I can’t forget.”

Gayatri stood up slowly, still feeling the warmth of his words lingering in the air. “I think I should go check on Chintu, and bring tea for you” she said softly, using the excuse to escape the intensity of the moment.

Raj watched her as she walked away, her saree swaying gently as she moved. He didn’t follow her. He had said what he wanted to say, and for now, that was enough.

As she disappeared down the hallway, Raj leaned back on the sofa, exhaling deeply. The tension between them hadn’t gone away, but for now, the moment was over. He closed his eyes, replaying the conversation in his mind, knowing that the connection between them had deepened, even if only in the form of words.

Back at Home: A Family’s Gratitude

Siva had just returned from his business trip and immediately checked on Chintu, who was resting after the minor accident. Relieved that his son was safe, Siva made his way to the living room where Raj was sitting. Gayatri was in the kitchen, preparing tea, still shaken from the incident but filled with a sense of gratitude. She couldn’t stop thinking about how calm Raj had been throughout the ordeal, how he had taken charge when both she and Siva were too panicked to act rationally.

When Gayatri brought the tea into the living room, she found Siva and Raj deep in conversation, with Siva occasionally shaking his head in amazement at Raj’s composure. She handed Raj a cup of tea, giving him a grateful smile, before moving to sit beside Siva. As she sat down, she hugged Siva tightly, feeling both relief and guilt over the scare with Chintu.

Once Gayatri had settled, Siva turned to Raj with a look of sincere appreciation. “Raj, you’re like a brother to me,” he said warmly, his voice full of emotion. “I don’t know how you managed to stay so calm. I was completely lost in there, and Gayatri… we didn’t know what to do.”

Raj smiled and nodded as he took the cup from Gayatri. “You both did great,” he said reassuringly. “It’s completely normal to panic when something happens to your child. That’s why I’m here—to help out when things get tough.”

Siva shook his head again, still in awe. “I don’t think I could’ve handled it without you,” he admitted. “It’s one thing to be in charge at work, but when it comes to family, I just… I don’t know how you manage to stay so composed.”

Raj chuckled lightly, taking a sip of tea. “It’s just experience, Bhayya. Sometimes, you need someone on the outside to keep a level head. When you’re in the middle of it, it’s hard to think straight.”

Gayatri glanced at Raj, her heart filled with gratitude. “We’re so thankful you were here,” she said softly. “I don’t know how I would’ve gotten through today without you.”

Raj smiled at both of them. “I’m always here for you. You’re family to me.”

The three sat in comfortable silence for a few moments, sipping their tea, grateful that the crisis had passed and that Chintu was safe.

As the night wore on and the panic from earlier slowly faded into relief, Siva and Gayatri couldn’t help but feel that Raj’s presence in their lives was something truly special. He wasn’t just a friend who helped out in emergencies; he was a constant source of strength, a dependable presence who had once again proven his worth.

And that night, as they tucked Chintu into bed, Siva couldn’t shake the thought that Raj wasn’t just a friend anymore—he was family in every sense of the word.

Impression on Raj

The events of the day left a lasting impression on Siva and Gayatri. Raj had proven once again that he was someone they could always count on, no matter the situation. His calmness in the face of panic, his ability to step in when they were overwhelmed, and his care for Chintu had deepened their admiration for him. Siva, who had always seen Raj as a dependable friend, now saw him as something more—a steady presence they couldn’t imagine their lives without.

And for Gayatri, Raj’s actions reinforced what she already knew—that Raj was someone special. He wasn’t just a friend who helped out occasionally; he was someone who always went above and beyond, who cared for her family as if it were his own.

That night, as Siva and Gayatri sat together, reflecting on the day’s events, they couldn’t help but feel incredibly grateful to have Raj in their lives—an unwavering friend who had, once again, been their rock when they needed him the most.

As Gayatri put Chintu to bed, Raj prepared to leave. But before he did, he paused at the door, looking back at her.

“Take care, Bhabhi. And if you ever need anything, don’t hesitate to call,” Raj said, his tone sincere.

Gayatri nodded, a small smile on her lips. “Thank you, Raj. For everything.”

With that, Raj left, knowing that despite everything, he would always be there for Gayatri and Chintu, no matter what.

As the door clicked shut behind Raj, Gayatri let out a long, slow breath, leaning back against the door for support. The weight of the evening’s events pressed heavily on her. The adrenaline that had fueled her through the ordeal of Chintu’s injury and the rush to the hospital was finally beginning to fade, leaving her emotionally exhausted.

She looked over at Chintu, now resting peacefully on the couch, his face still pale from the stress but safe, comfortable, and home. Gayatri’s heart swelled with a mix of relief and gratitude. She was thankful beyond words that Chintu was alright, that the injury had turned out to be minor. But as her gaze shifted back to the door where Raj had just left, a wave of conflicting emotions washed over her.

Raj had been there for her and Chintu when they needed him most. He had driven them to the hospital with a calm urgency that had kept her from falling apart. He had stayed by their side the entire time, comforting her, reassuring her, and making sure Chintu got the best care possible. For that, she was deeply grateful.

But even as she acknowledged his help, an uncomfortable knot tightened in her chest. Raj’s earlier advances, the way he had held her, kissed her, and spoken to her with such intense familiarity—it had all been too much. She had felt trapped between her own shock and the overpowering force of his affection.

Gayatri closed her eyes, trying to push the memories away, but they lingered stubbornly. The way Raj had pulled her close, his hands exploring her as if he had a right to her body, the way he had whispered those flattering, yet unsettling words—it had all made her skin crawl. Yet, at the same time, it confused her because of the undeniable care he had shown when it mattered most.

How could someone who had just crossed so many lines also be the person who had stayed up all night to ensure her son’s safety? How could she reconcile the two versions of Raj—the one who made her uncomfortable, and the one who had been her rock in a moment of crisis?

As these questions spun in her mind, Gayatri felt a deep sense of unease. She didn’t want to be ungrateful, especially not after everything Raj had done for Chintu tonight. But she also couldn’t ignore the growing discomfort she felt around him, the way his presence made her feel vulnerable in a way she didn’t want to be.

With a heavy heart, she headed to her bedroom, hoping that sleep would bring her some clarity, or at least a brief respite from the turmoil swirling inside her. She knew she had to be strong, to set boundaries that couldn’t be crossed again, but the memory of Raj’s touch, his words, would be harder to forget.
thanks
Venkatesh
