Chapter 159 – The Locked Room & Deal
The bedroom door clicked shut behind them.
Mirnaa turned the key, slow, deliberate, the metallic sound sharp in the sudden hush. The room was small, intimate: a double bed with crisp white sheets, a single lamp casting warm gold across the walls, the faint scent of Shiney’s jasmine Agarbatti lingering like a ghost. Outside, the city hummed — distant horns, a neighbor’s television, life moving on as if nothing had shattered.
Inside — everything had.
Mirnaa turned to face Bharath.
Her eyes were different now — not the empty exhaustion Vikram had seen earlier, not the cold resolve she’d worn like armor in the living room. They were darker. Hungrier. Seductive in a way that made Bharath’s breath catch. She stepped closer — slow, deliberate — hips swaying just enough to remind him of Goa, of nights when she had been soft, uncertain, his.
Bharath didn’t move. He watched her like a man watching a trap close.
“Who are you?” he asked — voice low, suspicious.
The Mirnaa i knew never did this... never this shameless. Who are you?
Mirnaa stopped inches from him.
For a second she just looked — eyes searching his face as if measuring something only she could see.
Then — without a word — she reached up, fingers working the hooks of her blouse.
One by one they opened. The fabric parted. She shrugged it off her shoulders — let it fall to the floor.
A small, faded mark sat just above the curve of her left breast — a faint crescent, the ghost of a bite.
“Do you remember this?” she asked softly. “The mark you left in Goa.”
Bharath’s eyes flicked to it — then back to her face.
Suspicion still lingered, but something hotter flickered beneath it.
He stepped back — sat on the edge of the bed — elbows on knees, watching her like she might vanish or attack.
“What game are you playing, Mirnaa? Remember — I’m a cop.” I can smell if something is odd
Mirnaa smiled — small, almost sad.
She reached down, picked up her blouse, slipped it back on.
Buttoned it slowly — one hook at a time — until she was covered again.
“Thanks,” she said. “You just reduced my drama.”
Now you know im up for something.. its better lets go straight.. without dramas.
Bharath blinked — thrown.
She sat beside him — close enough that her thigh brushed his.
Not seductive now. Calm. Controlled.
“I still love Vikram,” she said — voice low, steady.
I thought so Bharath said.
Then you want to stay with me live with me, seperated from him, divorce all for drama?
“No, all true.. but I have decided to live with you…
Sorry i dont get it?
Yes i've decided to live with you. Just to protect him.”
Bharath stared — stunned.
He realized Mirnaa knews something about his plan with aadahrsh
“So you know all the stories already.”
Mirnaa nodded once.
“I suspected it.
For weeks someone was trailing me.
At Vikram’s house — when I was confronting you — you just had tears. Nothing else. Am I right?” You dont even exhibit an utter shock, you were like you already know it.
Bharath’s jaw tightened.
“You husband already fooled me. You’re into this.
Tell me — what’s your game?” I done enough with the games.
Mirnaa smirked — small, dangerous.
“Before that… tell me what you really need.
You’ve done your revenge. You exposed Vikram.
What now? What do you want?”
His life? or my body?
Bharath looked away — jaw working.
Im really not interested in your husbands life.. its just Aadharsh's revenge. for me i thought of exposing him and then take you with me.. not as lovers..
Mirnaa said please explain me
“I lost hope in love. In marriage.
Let’s be in a live-in together. Come with me.
Let’s explore… newness in sex. If we’re meant to be lovers — we will someday.
But not now. I’m being frank.”
He met her eyes again — unflinching.
“Now tell me — what’s your game?
Seduce me? Show me a little?
Then make me like a dog wagging its tail? Secure your husband and leave me alone?”
Mirnaa smiled — slow, almost gentle.
“No.”
She leaned closer — voice dropping to a whisper.
“I’m leaving him for good.
I’m offering myself to you. I just want your help
Bharath said i Knew it? what do you want to do trading with your body?
Mirna calmly said i need you help in eradicating Aadharsh.”
Bharath froze.
“Mirnaa… is this really you? Or some ghost?”
He searched her eyes — looking for the lie.
She didn’t blink.
Bharath said stop.. im very curious now.. what all you know? where you got all these?
When did you started planning like this?
So you expected this will come to this level?
“How do you know all the secrets?”
Mirnaa exhaled — slow, controlled. Let me answer from the start.. i have decided you are my partner, who would travel with me how long ever i wated here..
Regarding secrets, the first and base . “I got a few those from Mohan. About Sekaran. The nature of the work. Mohan even told me why Vikram was pushed into that path.
I was disappointed…
but I know he struggled inside. Feared every single minute. For hiding the truth.
That night I kissed his chest… he would have struggled for lying to me and not getting enough courage to face me..
so it didnt shake me when i was aware of it
The only part i didnt know was his affair with malar and malavika, i didnt know that.. but james my detective warned me there could be some.. so i was well prepared..
when i hear the names i got convinced, its just a revenge, they caused him harm..
You hired detective?
Yes. In fact my detective even followed you.
That is how i Got to know what you’re up to.
Every time I parked my car in the second street — it wasn’t for spying on him.
It was for spying on you. Your car always parked at the end. I monitored you. Every time.”
Bharath’s breath caught.
She took her phone — unlocked it — played an audio clip.
Bharath’s own voice — speaking to Aadharsh in the warehouse.
“…on the day Vikram is pushed into legal trouble by us, I will make sure to steal all loads from their place. Clients will panic… I will pitch them after months — thrice the price demand-supply formula. I will regain my empire while Vikram and his empire and unknown Shadow King can never come back.”
The clip ended.
Bharath stared at the phone — then at her.
You know im one of the person who wanted to cause trouble to vikram
“Why choose me?” he asked — voice rough. “Why think I’ll do that just for sex?”
Mirnaa looked at him — unflinching.
“You risked yourself being a double agent… for my body. I’m offering you do it again. Not just body, i will be living with you...
If you fear — I’ll do it myself. Just create a scenario that he would come inside my boundary.”
Bharath’s eyes narrowed.
“Why not Vikram? He’s powerful. Can’t he take Aadharsh?”
Mirnaa’s voice softened — almost tender.
“No. I don’t want his hands dirty anymore. Let him lead a good life. My distance will push him to choose normalcy. But when he fully embraces a normal life… he will have a new wife. He will have peace. And every record against him… I will destroy it.”
She leaned closer — eyes burning.
“Everyone wins. You have me. I have Aadharsh’s hold. Vikram has his peace.”
Bharath could not believe what he was hearing.
He stared at her — long, searching.
Then — slowly — he smiled.
A dangerous, quiet smile.
“You’re not the woman I thought you were.”
Mirnaa didn’t smile back.
If Manya loved you.. and she got trapped in a forest with crocodiles.
what will you do, if it had to fight with 8 crocodiles? to save her what will you do?
Bharath said he will shoot it, or he wil give all his energy to fight '
Im doing the same.. i know the risk of nearing aadharsh.. but i trust you... when things goes wrong sacrifice me
bharath looked at her
What's your actual plan for aadharsh... you would have already planned it
Mirnaa said let it stay hidden
She stood — walked to the window — looked out at the night city.
Bharath asked one last question
Who am i actually to you?
Mirna answered: My partner in crime and of-course my sex partner..
Bharath could not believe anything of it, he came in a mindset to overpower her.
she looked different.
“When do we start?” Bharath asked. he rose — stepped behind her.
Click.. Sound in Mirnaa's mobile.
James send her a message -- Vikram started from his house..
She saw — body tensing.
Then — softly, almost to herself:
“Now.”
She turned to Bharath — eyes blazing with something new.
Something dangerous.
Something final.
The bedroom door clicked shut behind them.
