Chapter-58
Next day morning:
"Are you leaving now? It's too early!", Maahi exclaimed when she saw Tanvi walking down with her kids to the living room.
Tanvi took a quick mental report, Maahi was decently dressed and sitting beside the large dining table. Upendra was shirtless and in the same boxer standing next to the mini-bar and Hansa was sitting on the couch with a big cup of coffee in her hands.
"Yes Maahiji, we are", Tanvi avoided meeting the elder woman's eyes while replying. She was unsure of how she would respond if they engaged in more talk.
"But Tanvi, we were expecting you to stay for this weekend and explore what we started!", it was Upendra.
"No Upendraji, we have to go", Tanvi replied again without meeting his eyes.
"Okay sure, but see, I have something to show you before you go, here see for yourself ", with the sneering comment, Upendra extended his phone to her.
"Upen, no", it was Hansa who suddenly stood up from where she was seated.
"Why not, she needs to see", Updendra gruffly dismissed Hansa.
"Upen, you promised", Hansa sneered back.
"Promises are made to be broken dear Hansa!"
"Upen, not now at least, please", Maahi also stood up.
"Well, in that case, Tanvi you go ahead and place the kids in the car and come back here, this is something you don't want anyone else to see, except you", Upendra grunted again.
"Children, go to the car, here is the key", Tanvi handed over the keys to her children who took and ran out of the house excitedly.
"Now, where were we? Tanvi, come here and see for yourself", Upendra held his hand forward carrying the mobile phone.
With a heavy beating of heart, Tanvi took the phone and with added dread, she looked at its screen.
Her heart sank!
In the dim video, she saw her face between Hansa's wide-spread legs creating indecent sounds. She couldn't look further, and the phone dropped from her hand immediately.
"Hansaji", a painful voice came from Tanvi with a look that made Hansa's heart sink.
"Tanvi, sorry, it was not meant to be this way, I am sorry, really I am sorry", Hansa walked towards Tanvi.
With horror, disgust and sadness, Tanvi took a few steps back as if recoiling from the face of Hansa. "You promised", words came out of her automatically along with a few tears falling through her fair cheeks.
"That's why I said, promises are made to be broken", Upendra started to smirk and chuckled and took the phone from the floor. "Look Tanvi, this is a momento that I will keep and if your behaviour will prove it worthy to be deleted or not, the decision totally depends on you. As you are a bit shaken, you and your silly husband can leave now. But...listen to me carefully my dear...you will come back here when I ask, is that clear?", Upendra made a winner's face as he dictated the terms.
For a moment Tanvi wasn't sure how and whom to blame and also failed to respond to what Upendra just blurted. She noticed a crestfallen Hansa with tears in her eyes and a sullen Maahi who failed to respond in any manner.
"Where are the kids Tanvi? Ready to go", the call from Sanjoth made everyone froze for a moment.
"Ye...Yes...they are in the car waiting, let's go", Tanvi replied with hiccups.
"Okay then, thank you for a great night Upendraji, Maahiji and Hansaji, we all enjoyed this lovely house, a mansion I should say, and I am sure we will be back soon", Sanjoth smiled and walked out.
"I...I will join...I...forgot my phone", Tanvi explained to her husband who rolled his eyes as he walked out of the house.
The very moment he was out of the living room, Tanvi turned to face Hansa.
"Hansaji, what happened between us happened, there is no denying it. I am ashamed as a woman who wantonly accepted to trust you without knowing your real intention. And, I am sorry for me that I forgot who I was and fell blatantly to your kind gestures, it was wrong on my part. So, I apologise for my behaviour as a woman who committed adultery, it shouldn't have happened...but it did...I am sorry that my judgement about you failed and it's totally on me, sorry!", she took a pause.
"Tanvi...I...", Hansa started to reply and was stopped by Tanvi who turned her attention to Upendra who still carried the winning face.
"And, Upendraji, the video you carry, if you think that blackmail is the way to bend me to your wishes, you got it wrong...totally wrong", Tanvi paused again and carried on without allowing the large man to cut her..."So, if the plan is to show this to my Husband, Friends, Family or go online with it, feel free to do whatever you want to do with it...because I JUST...DON'T CARE! You got me? I don't care what you do with it...possibly you can shag yourself by watching it over and over. I am NOT your plaything, I am an adult woman and I know what I did, and to be honest, I am not ashamed of it. So, go ahead and give it your best shot!", Tanvi paused again.
"Oh yeah! Then it is a challenge that I accept!", Upendra's face was clouded as he did not expect such a reaction from the young mother.
Before he could speak more, Maahi cut in..."Upen, stop, that is enough. Let her go"
"Bye everyone, and thank you so much Hansaji, you really opened my eyes", Tanvi stormed out of the house.
"It was a great night, yes?", Sanjoth started small talk while driving. He had no clue of what actually happened inside between his wife and others.
"Yes, it was", Tanvi's response was curt.
"What a beautiful house it was, possibly we should have something like that when we retire", he continued without looking at his wife as he knew there was a great chance that she was already aware of his wrongdoings the previous night.
No answer.
"Do you want to stop to meet your parents, Tanvi?", he continued.
"No"
As there was no means to continue the conversation, Sanjoth dropped the pleasantries and engaged with his kids.
Tanvi was glad for the abrupt end to the unpleasant conversation. Though she blurted to Upendra with a lot of bravery, she knew the trouble she was in and the extreme possible outcomes if Upendra made any moves. Moreover, she was deeply saddened with the way how Hansa turned out to be, she placed her trust in that woman and it was broken...broken bad...real bad.
Somehow they reached home. Sanjoth went straight to sleep leaving Tanvi and kids to their respective worlds.
Tanvi boiled inside. Rage consumed her brain for the grave mistake on her part and that anger was mixed and multiplied with fearful thoughts of what was expected from Upendra because she was sure that, along with her own video clip, there would be another one of her husband's as well.
Somewhere deep inside her head, an ominous voice echoed in a predatory tone..."All of this is nothing Tanvi, something worse is coming for you..."
