Chapter 63 – The Silence & The Second Kiss | Prem finds Madhavan
The next morning, the new house felt too big, too quiet, too full of yesterday’s echoes.
Vani and Nivi had to ride together in Rohan’s car to the office — Nitin had already left early for a site visit.
They slid into the backseat — Rohan driving, eyes on the road, silent.
Vani sat on the left, Nivi on the right.
They could not see each other’s eyes.
Vani stared out her window — the city blurring past in streaks of grey and green.
Nivi stared at her own hands — folded tightly in her lap, nails digging into her palms.
No one spoke for the first ten minutes.
The only sounds were the low hum of the engine, the occasional honk outside, and the faint click of Rohan’s indicator.
Finally — Rohan broke the silence, voice casual, almost light.
“You two okay back there?”
Nivi — soft, barely audible — “Yes.”

Prem had spent the previous day chasing shadows in Ernakulam — college records, old coaches, faded photos.
Now he was in Kozhikode — the address he’d finally pried from a saloon shop owner who remembered Madhavan.
“Shifted here after the incident,” the man had said, wiping his hands on a towel. “Quiet guy. Doesn’t talk much.”

He knocked.
